Schreyers community

So I was recently accepted into Schreyers and I got a chance to do a very brief tour (but not one to gain a comprehensive perspective for life at Schreyer’s) and I was wondering: what’s it like being a Schreyer’s scholar? Is everyone a super genius super smart workaholic? Are they generally nice or are they snotty? How close are the scholars with one another? Do they spend a lot of time with one another? Is it easy to make friends with other scholars?

I apologize if these questions come off as too forward, but I’m trying to gain a perspective of life as a scholar as I will not have time to tour before may 1. Any feedback would be appreciated!

  1. No
  2. Nice
  3. Depends on you
  4. Depends on you
  5. Depends on you

People are generally nice and friendly. If you live in honors housing and make an effort to join Schreyer-related activities, you can become close friends with people. But you can just as easily not do anything and stay in your room and not be close to anyone as a result.

There’s an involvement fair as part of SHOTIME, I believe. Go to that and to the normal involvement fair during the first week of fall classes. Also go to community events your RA sets up.
