SDSU Class of 2022 Applicant Thread

CSU GPA: 3.885
SAT: 1400
Major: CS

accepted in december

Has anyone heard back that’s a biology major? Starting to get worried that the possibility of getting an acceptance letter for me is close to none, since their open house is this weekend, and a lot of my friends who applied have already heard back.

Thanks!

@volunteeringteen: Only the high stat Honors College students along with some OOS students have heard in December. The bulk of the decisions have not yet posted.

I don’t understand the description of high stat applicants. I know so many people who have been accepted with very average stats, including some posting on here. I think for those who are waiting, maybe it has something to do with major. Don’t panic. I do think it’s bad planning about the open house, but if you are in the area, and feel like your stats are competitive, you may as well go anyway. My daughter is interested in Pepperdine and we already scheduled the flight for admitted students day, even though we won’t receive notice until this weekend.

@disneycam: The High Stat applicants I was referring to were the Honors College invitees. These are the average stats for these applicants.
Typically, the average SAT (math + verbal) is approximately 1345, the average ACT is approximately 30, and the average high school weighted GPA is approximately 4.14.

Also you have to take some of the stats posted with a grain of salt. Some posters do not always calculate their CSU GPA correctly, local applicants get priority so their EI thresholds may be lower and OOS applicants do not get the same weighting in the GPA calculation.

If any applicant is interested in SDSU, they should attend regardless if they are accepted as of yet and hopefully decisions will be rolling out prior to this weekend.

@Gumbymom Thanks. Makes sense.

@Gumbymom S was accepted to Business in December but did not turn in Weber Honors app for priority consideration by 1/15. He is submitting the Honors app this week as he’s leaning heavily toward SDSU. Do you know what the process is now that early admits were notified of acceptance to Honors in mid-feb? Will his app be reviewed now or added to the pool of RD honors applicants with the 3/30 deadline?

@Gumbymom. Why do you have 21,000 posts to these boards at so many schools? Are you a college application coach or something?

I applied to 6 CSUs and as of today I’ve heard back from every single one except SDSU. And SDSU is my #1 choice. I have anxiettttttttttttyyyyyyy

@srose2018 me too :frowning:

Did anyone get into SDSU yesterday, here is why I ask: my friend who works with someone who applied heard her say at work yesterday that she got into "SDSU " yesterday, however i believe no one has heard except the honors and SJSU did come out yesterday. But I can’t help freaking out that maybe she did get into SDSU and this means I’m not getting in
sorry for the long paragraph
my question is basically has anyone gotten in other than the people who were accepted in December?

@Caligirl24 university of San Diego came out yesterday , maybe thats what she meant

Yes they applied for nursing. But this year you could only apply for pre-nursing which means you still have to apply to get into the nursing school. I hope it isn’t too hard to get into, if I knew it was only a 5% acceptance rate I would of chosen biology as my major.

The acceptance rate for nursing might not end up being that low. Pre-nursing designates the prerequisites that first year students will do before starting clinicals sophomore year. The good news is that once you’re in you don’t have to later apply to the program. It is considered direct admission. https://nursing.sdsu.edu/programs/bs-in-nursing/admissions/direct-admission/ Good luck. Hopefully we hear good news on acceptance very soon.

Crossing fingers for answers this week. Really was hoping to do college visits over spring break but it is looking doubtful since so many schools have yet to release their normal decisions.

It is crazy how late everything is running this year.

I was accepted in december for psychology and got 27 ACT, have a 3.7 GPA, and i’m in-state. I honestly didn’t think I was gonna get in and I didn’t even know they did early admission so you never know what stats they look for. good luck everyone!!

any idea when decisions might be coming?

No idea other than “March”. Fortunately we are local and will be attending the open house 3/17 even if we haven’t heard yet. I’m sure this board will light up as decisions are posted. I know we will share our info as we get it.

Cal Poly rejections rolling now.
