SDSU Class of 2022 Applicant Thread

I’m going to do that. Problem is the ones responsible for this are hiding until their pensions kick in. Some poor coed will be at the booth.

I am unfortunately unable to attend because I have commitments for Track that I did not want to abandon in order to go to an Open House for a school I haven’t heard from yet. If anyone hears anything worth-while (especially dealing with nursing) please post it on this thread!! (:

I’m in a similar position. I’m in the SLO area for spring break visiting my dad. If I already knew I was in at SDSU, I would have liked to go, but I don’t want to waste a 4.5 hour drive on a school just to be rejected next week. I’m kind of disappointed that I probably won’t be able to visit now.

@Banker1 The way UCLA or most universities these days get through tens of thousands of applications is by spending an average of 8 minutes per application according to a recent WSJ article; some as little as 4-6 minutes. For all their years of efforts, our children’s fate is decided in less than 10 minutes.

Last year my friend’s daughter got into UCLA (theater major), yet was denied by Santa Cruz and Cal State Long Beach. Makes no sense! Scary though, when you THINK you have a safety school and you get rejected!

S got accepted to UCSD last night. He thinks the “no fun” San Diego school is a better fit for him. Is there a way to decline SDSU offer to free up space for others or do we just wait for May 1 to pass?

@CopperlineX2: Congratulations to your son. You can call admissions and withdraw the application.

@CopperlineX2 thank you for thinking of others!!

It’s raining cats and dogs in San Diego today. Not a great day for a tour.

The weather will be damp and cloudy. No more rain forecast until very late tonight so we should be fine for this event.

Rain stopped and the event is pretty well organized. No way the failure to send out acceptances is not a huge issue. Most of it targetting new students. I doubt they sell as many sdsu items as planned.

Does anyone know when they are releasing decisions? Because I went to the open house and asked around and no one seemed to know. However, this one girl said that they had a glitch on the website and everything and they are planning on finalizing admissions tmw sooo I’m confused now

All of the other people who I asked said “oh some time at the end of March”

It was well organized. The Zura residence hall tour was quick and easy. The Nursing facility was closed but we weren’t able to make the Nursing specific events earlier due to a scheduling conflict. The current students (juniors) at the Nursing exhibit talked to us for about 20 minutes so that was very informative.

We did the mechanical engineering talk thrn toured 3 of the labs. Then did two residence halls, grabbed lunch and then hit up bookstore. It was nice. Apparently the cause campuses have had glitches with the new system and also couldn’t get the sat scores updated in their system but no one stated a date when they would be released

How’s the environment and quality of education at SDSU? Anyone visited for a college tour? Is it like near the city?

@CopperlineX2 congrats and thank you for what you said. i think the only way is to withdraw the application from the sdsu portal or contact/email the admission saying that your son has no intention to be considered for admission purpose anymore. hope this helps!

I am still waiting for an admission decision from sdsu. the acceptance rate is pretty low and I heard it’s a great school. my major is film and I hope it’s not impacted. I heard that the campus is nice.

@SmartGurl17 It is about 10 miles from downtown, but you can get there on the trolley from campus. Still in the city limits.

@SweetCaliforniaWeather-12 CSUN has an excellent film school, so you will be in good shape no matter what happens with SDSU or anywhere else!
