SDSU Class of 2024 Application Thread

@2015vintagemars: According the WHC FAQ’s, 300 Freshman enter the WHC and around 1700 applications are submitted. It does not state how many Freshmen they actually accept and what is their yield.

Looks like the transfers are starting to get acceptances on their SDSU portals. Perhaps that means general applicants are next? It’s been a loooooonnnngggg wait!

@2024parent2024 Two years ago when my older son was going through the process he was a business major. They have multiple dates for each major and if I remember correctly there were spread out over a couple of weeks. I believe they all took place in July. I don’t think there were any weekend dates offered. He chose one of the first dates and had no problems getting the classes he wanted. Some other students had more difficulty getting the classes they wanted as they had later registration dates. I pulled out some old papers from him and it appears that back in 2018 they opened registration for orientation on May 10th. I could not find anything with the actual dates as I think that was emailed to him and I don’t have access.

On my son’s SDSU portal, it says “Admission decisions will be available in March.” I cannot remember when this message showed up.

It has been there in my daughter’s portal for quite a while. At least since early January–maybe longer. It hasn’t keep anyone from checking a couple of times a week, though.

Hi, @ElenaParent ! I apologize for taking so long to reply! After the holidays I became very ill and had a relapse, I’m just getting back my strength enough to get back online. If you still want to ask me this question, please reach out (or message me). I adore things all SDSU, and love to help answer anyone’s questions about the university and greater community. I’m an alumna, mom of a third generation Aztec, and involved in different areas of SDSU life, so if I can’t answer it, I usually have a resource that will get me the info.

D admitted to SDSU! Very happy  Any ideas when financial aid decisions are made?

@MA2024 when did she get admitted? Congratulations!!

@MA2024 can you please also share your D’s stats/grades/EI too? Thanks!

Admitted on Feb 14. Just found this Application thread.

3.86 UW GPA (not sure how that calculates to a CSU, insights appreciated)
1310 SAT
El 4398 (if I did the math right)
Biology Major
Out of State (Mass)

@MA2024: Congratulations to your D.

SDSU uses 10-11th grades for the a-g courses and gives extra weighting to AP/IB courses taken during this time. Maximum Honors points is 8 (8 semesters). OOS applicants do not get extra weighting for HS Honors courses.

You can calculate your CSU GPA using this calculator but it should also state the GPA on her application.

In my portal it just changed and it now says “January 18 2020”. Does that mean my decision was decided that day?

@jkliewer where does it say that in the portal?

@CollegeCguy when i open up admission status. There are two boxes, one saying name and address and another saying application information. In application information one of the bars says admission status date January 18th. What could this mean?

@CollegeCguy what does your status say next to the line “admission status”? My D’s still says “admission status= pending” and “admission status date= Feb 24, 2020”.

My DD’s still says admission status=pending and admission status date = November 26, 2019

ugh!!!

Does everyone receive a financial aid estimate when you submitted your application? I did for SDSU but no other Cal States just wondering

Same here. Only fin aid info from SDSU- not other 4 CSUs.

My S20’s still says admission status=pending and admission status date = October 12, 2019

@diegodavis I’m wondering why we all have different “admissions status dates”? Do you have a high EI?
