@Gumbymom
Do you know the stats for San Diego State in Pre-Art Multimedia? Waiting is hard. I saw your son or niece may go to CSULB. My daughter got in, but not sure how the housing works if she needs housing for all of college, we’re in-state but too far to commute.
Anyone here accepted to Mathematics major? We’re still waiting.
Thanks.
Has anyone been accepted to Information Systems major yet?
Still waiting on Math here too
@TallStef @JumpySandwich @magswags we’re still waiting for pre-mathematics ITEP too. Perhaps they will release this department tomorrow?
has anyone heard from the biology dept, specifically marine bio
@jhansen1, daughter was accepted yesterday for microbiology-bio dept. Not marine bio, but same department i believe.
SDSU does not post the stats by major. All they post are the averages for the entire admitted class which is 3.97 CSU Capped weighted GPA, SAT of 1283 and ACT of 27.5.
Eligibility index by major will also vary so an EI in the range of 4200/4300 can be competitive for some majors, while a 4600+ many be not high enough for others.
You can look up the # of applicants and admitted students using this link, but no stats will be posted. https://tableau.sdsu.edu/views/AppsDataTables/AppsbyMajor?iframeSizedToWindow=true&:embed=y&:display_count=no&:showAppBanner=false&:origin=viz_share_link&:showVizHome=no
Regarding housing. SDSU housing is not on a first come basis, so they will not review the housing applications until after the SIR May 1 date (as of last year).
CSULB housing as of last year was on a first come basis. Starting Fall 2020, they do not require non-local students to live on-campus. Not sure why they changed the requirement. The housing application opens April 1, so my niece whom just visited CSULB will be visiting SDSU on March 20th. She wants to make her final decisions prior to the CSULB housing application open date to get the best housing.
@Gumbymom
Yes it’s a hard decision. I just hope Csulb has decent housing.
Same. I’m a Math major from California and my admission status is pending:(
Anyone get into CS yet?
@CollegeMomCL2024: My niece and my sister did the CSULB housing tour and were happy with what they saw. Plenty of new building going on all over campus. We will see what her final decision will be since she has not toured SDSU yet.
Anyone heard back for hearing /speech sciences major yet ?
@Heyy779: One post so far.
In state; CSU GPA: 3.59; SAT: 1450; Pre-Speech and Hearing Sciences.
Hint: to search this thread, use the magnifying glass on the bottom or top right. Type in a key word and all posts with that key word will be listed. That is how I found the above post.
I’m still pending for SDSU, but got into Cal Poly SlO. Can’t believe it.
@toosarcastic17, my daughter is in the exact same position. CP SLO is her #1, but SDSU is right up there. Her brother is already at Cal Poly and we all love it there, so it is now much easier to wait for SDSU.
@toosarcastic17 we’re in the same boat! My D’s portal is still “pending” at SDSU, but she was accepted to Cal Poly this evening.
@toosarcastic17
@AMCdad
@kukui77
Same here. D accepted to Cal Poly this evening (!), but still waiting to hear on SDSU.
I got into SDSU back in December for CS. Definitely increased my confidence but am now still waiting to hear from cal poly - and even more stressful sjsu.
D accepted yesterday! OOS, SAT 1290, CSU GPA 3.9, SAT 1290, ACT 29. Communications. I am a 5 year California resident.
