SDSU Class of 2024 Application Thread

@CollegeMomCL2024 your daughter received notice of rejection from SLO? I haven’t heard anyone else say that - they only started acceptances two days ago and theory is there are more of those to come before rejections?

I hope that everything works out the way she wants. If CSULB is not her first choice it is still a very nice consolation prize. It was right there at the top for my daughter. The problem is that there are a great many students who also have SDSU, CSULB, and Cal Poly in their top three.

@AMCdad
Yes it was weird. Very early on like they didn’t even read anything.
She only scored a 20 on act, so I’m positive that’s what it was, but she has a high gpa with all AP at a magnet high school, overcame a learning disability-has an IEP, tons of EC, volunteer, leadership, awards etc. but apparently they don’t care about that. I was sad even though that wasn’t her first choice anyway.

Does anyone know the historical dates that SDSU has released their admissions decisions? Like for 2019, 2018, etc.

Possibly was the other kid first gen? The UC’s weight that very heavily. Maybe cal state is following suit. I don’t remember if it asked that last year when my son applied.

Rejected today.

Male from SoCal
1480 SAT
4.00 unweighted/4.5806 weighted GPA
Major: Music Entrepreneurship

Can you verify the stats @Cjhastings322 ?

These are Brown/Cornell type numbers. For SDSU, it is an EI of over 5000.

@Cjhastings322
If those are your stats, I’m afraid to know for the rest of us. Maybe they are looking at other things? I thought it was by stats.

@Cjhastings322 I am sorry to hear about your rejection. Did they offer you waitlist or deferred enrollment? How did you hear about it? What time did they send it (If via email, what time did they send it and if via the portal what time did you notice or was it time stamped?)?

@DRDEXTER @Collegemomcl2024 @BayAreaLocal

Music Entrepreneurship requires an audition so the audition may be more important than the stats.

My DD was rejected today - very disappointed

Yes, these are my real stats. Music Entrepreneurship required an audition which I did not attend because I came down with the flu. I submitted an online audition instead, although it wasn’t my best work. I believe this was the main reason I was rejected. I consider myself to be a talented and adept musician, but my style (blues guitar) is not always desired by university music departments, so that may also have been a factor in my rejection.

I heard about the decision through email, which I received at 3:27 pm today, and it was a flat rejection.

Hope this helps ease some of your worries. I’m sure anyone applying with my stats under different circumstances would have been accepted.

@mmagnu sorry to hear about the result for your D. Nursing is very competitive and her stats are inline with the posted averages for the major. I hope she has some quality acceptances already and best of luck.

If you look at the SDSU class of 2023 posts, it appears there was a wave of acceptances 3/4-3/5 (Mon & Tues), then it slowed down during the week, and then another wave on Friday 3/8 of acceptances, waitlists, and rejections. Perhaps we will hear more today?

crickets over here.Only three people from my kids high school have heard… all undeclared

Only Dec early admits have heard at my D’s high school. The silence has everyone else very anxious.

Mom just called the office, and said that admissions will be released over the next two weeks and we should hear back no later than the 20th
