SO true. My daughter was given poor advice from her counselor, I think. She thought at the time she really wanted CS or Engineering, and she didnā€™t get in anywhere in CA except UCSC declaring those majors. (He told her to go with that, because her numbers were good). And now I ask her - are you sure you want CS/Engineering? She said no not sure- maybe marketing! Ok great. I donā€™t blame her. Asking these kids at their age to commit to majors like this, with so much money on the line - is messed up. This system is so messed up.

My son also decided to reject and attend CC instead and transfer. SDSU took forever to accept him off of the waitlist and they are not offering any Financial aid. In addition, weā€™ve heard that it is highly impacted school and for many people it takes 5yrs to graduate. No thanks.

@Gumbymom Do you think weā€™ll see admits from the waitlist until a couple more weeks out due to delays?

Although the waitlist closed last year on June 26, since the SIR deadline was pushed back to May 15th, they could go into July with more admits. Until SDSU sends denials and closes the waitlist, there is still a chance.

Does anyone know if housing is guaranteed for students granted admission from an appeal or waitlist? (Above the 56, but local to San Diego county.)

Son was admitted last week after appeal process. Food and Nutrition major.

The waitlist notification says ā€œ Students on the waitlist will be notified in June if we are able to offer you admission.ā€ today is the last day of June so I wonder if today is the day? Anyone have any updates?

Got off waitlist yesterday evening for aerospace engineering.
4.1 gpa, 6 AP tests passed, 7 AP classes taken, 1 dual enrollment

The waitlist closed for my DD:
The status is now ā€œWaitlist No Space Availableā€
"Earlier this year, you indicated that you would like to be placed on the waitlist for admission in the event that admission spaces became available. Although your academic preparation and achievements are impressive, we unfortunately are unable to offer you admission to SDSU because all enrollment spaces have been filled. "
