<p>Live news conference - it appears that Hannah has been found. Police sources are confirming to local media that remains were found that they believe are hers, pending formal confirmation by the chief medical examiner. </p>
<p>They are not releasing any additional details regarding any evidence that was collected. </p>

<p>Sadly, I didn’t think she was still alive, but hope this will help her parents obtain some closure.</p>
<p>A body has been found near Lynchburg Rd today by a team that was searching for Hannah. I think it was just found by a team from Chesterfield County. I don’t know any more details. They’ll probably be able to identify is it’s her within a few hours.</p>
<p>I’m so sorry but a little glad the family can say goodbye to her properly.</p>
<p>Her poor parents. What they have been through…and what they will go through. :(</p>
<p>If they prove it was this guy that killed her, I hope he gets locked up forever. That poor girl… those poor girls. I’ll be praying for the families.</p>

<p>They will probably still be able to find DNA from the suspect with her. It is sad but it would be sadder if she were found after all the evidence had disappeared. I think we all can identify with the parents. I fell so sorry for them. The local young female reporter on the scene sounded like she going to break up a little. Everyone was hoping for a miracle. </p>
<p>They also said that the body was found not that far from where he used to lived 6 years ago. I hope they do a really good check of that area there may be more bodies there.</p>

<p>The location isn’t all that far outside of Charlottesville, and not all that far away from where the probably killer went to high school.</p>
<p>I wasn’t expecting a miracle, but it is greatly saddening. Lots of lessons, but I don’t think they are easy to learn. My heart goes out to her parents, as well as Hannah. I’m sure they preached what we all preach, and I’m sure she felt that she followed it to the degree necessary. And yet…</p>
<p>I knew instantly when I saw that she disappeared a block from where MH did that the same guy did this. This guy seems to have a consistent habit for catching these girls. He picked Morgan up in his cab and took her to a wooded area, and disposed of her after raping and killing her. Morgan was found in an almost identical area VERY close to Hannah-on a river bank in a shallow grave. He got Hannah alone and probably drugged her at the bar-if its any solace Hannah’s death was probably way less violent than Morgan’s. Morgan had numerous broken bones meaning she likely tried to fight back against Matthew. Hannah probably passed out and was killed without much of a struggle. This guy probably has killed at least 5 other women, no way morgan and hannah are the only two girls that he is responsible for.</p>
<p>I saw a video of an interview with one of the searchers who found the body. He described a skull and a long vertebrae (she was a tall girl) and some black stretch pants nearby. The remains were found in a ditch or gully behind an abandoned house. I don’t know what is able to be found with that level of decomposition and out in the elements. Perhaps some DNA can be found off the pants. </p>
<p>I get so angry thinking about this very promising young girl and how her life was taken away. </p>

<p>Should clarify. The Pantera T-shirt Morgan was wearing was found a block and a half from where Hannah disappeared. </p>
<p>If Virginia can prove both murders he won’t be getting locked up forever. He will get death. It might just take some time. </p>

<p>The older cases are probably easier to prosecute if the evidence is DNA based. The Graham case currently is circumstantial, although quite strong, especially if there is the DNA link to the earlier cases. </p>
<p>Sad to think this rapist/murderer has been jaunting about free for so many years. I heard a medical forensics expert on CNN. He said that it is unlikely given the time and decay caused by the elements that DNA of the perp will be recovered from the pants. </p>
<p>I just read the documents attached to the NBC story linked in post #476. There are 3 charges to the indictment: attempted murder, abduction, and rape. If there are separate capital murder trials for the 2 bodies (MH & presumably HG) in addition to the 2005 Fairfax rape case, it does not look good for Jesse Matthew. I hope Jim Camblos is up to the task - Matthew will need a good, competent attorney. I posted upthread that Matthew reminded me of the dim-witted Lenny in Steinbeck’s “Of Mice and Men.” I am willing to conceded that I was wrong. If Matthew committed these crimes, he is a cunning predator and there is nothing dim about him. I’m glad he is off the streets.</p>
