Mythmom, cosmos sound good. I would love to lift a glass to kitkat (and all other down-to-the-wire posters)!

I also need an extra dose of fortitude. Must take Small and Resentful to his final tux fitting today.

Oh me likee the cosmos!

Small and Resentful - love that!

kitkat: 3:45 pm. You take him. I’ll get going on your paperwork. Deal? :D

mythmom-
You should set up a side job guessing height/weight and age! You are good! He’s on the low end of your guess. If he was on the high end, and I admitted that I married a young’un, that’d make me… ugh… I don’t even want to think about that.

mathmom-- thanks too. He loves the fact that he looks young and that his hair is (1) still attached to his head and (2) still its natural color. We should all be so lucky on #2. Hopefully #1 is a non-issue for most of the mommies here.

My H would love you guys! To be considered a young’un at 50 - he will be so flattered. He still has his hair with quite a bit of grey coming out in the last few years. He’s a keeper.

^^^ mountains-
He was a young 'un (compared to me) when I married him almost 24 yrs ago. Now he’s an old fart like the rest of us!

Well jym, you are younger than I! And I didn’t marry my H until I was 38 with #2 on the way. So it is all relative!

Ha Ha - “Small & Resentful”… I had a Tall & Resentful and wouldn’t commit to wearing the tux until about 2 hrs prior to the Prom. He kept saying he was going to wear the really nice suit we bought him for a scholarship interview (which will also be worn to graduation and hopefully a few job interviews ahead to get our money’s worth)… boy did he look nice in the tux after all --he finally commented that the suit was “too much business” and the tux said he was “there to party” (a la Talladega Nights…) and he had a good time, even though he swore he wouldn’t go EVER and then asked a kindergarten buddy (ok she’s 18 now) and had a great time…

mythmom-
You are my hero

university, too funny & also too painful, considering that S1 (16) has already taught S2 (aka Small and Resentful, just turned 6) to explain that the tux says he’s “there to party.”

I have a sneaking suspicion the bride will not appreciate it if he declares this within range of the altar.

well, keep your video camera close by and maybe you can be a winner on America’s Funniest Videos… Good Luck!!

Harriet - Make sure he does not have “jacks” in his pocket. I was a flower girl when I was 4 and had my flowers on one hand and my jacks on the other. I’m walking down the aisle of this enormous Cathedral, and I decide I needed a jacks’ break. Sat down on the aisle halfway through and played jacks! To this day, my parents’ friends recall the incident.

My H and I married late so we will be in wheelchairs when our youngest gets out of college!

Small and resentful: Too cute! Here’s my advice: only small portions to eat of mild things. DH shot a wedding (he’s the photog, not the hit man) where the ring bearer threw up on the bride’s dress! And she was not a good sport!

Why do they put children through this? Little girls get pretty party dresses if they care about that and can almost play bride.

But Small and Resentful? I’m with him!

acme-
I always said I expected to be sittign on a porch drooling in a cup when they graduate college. That could very well be true in a few years. How about we go into business selling denture containers, while we’re at it.

I’m no spring chicken either–didn’t have my DS until I was 37, but you know what can make you feel younger? Skipping!

Hey, bethievt! Grab a rocker, take your teeth out and have a set (as we say in the south). I was 37 (almost 38) when younger s was born too. I believe some of our compadres here had their kiddos in their 40s. I bow at their feet.

I am so sad.

I am going to be out of the office the next several days. How will I ever get caught up once I get home in the evening???

DARN THIS HAVING TO WORK!

jym and bethie I have you beat by a couple of years. With the age spread of my kids I am in range of age of most of my oldest s’s friends’ parents but I look like grandma next to some of my youngest s’s friends’ parents. And it’s getting harder to keep up the youthful appearance now that all my discretionary money for facials, haircuts and the like are in the college coffer!

Yes, when my son was young, I was often assumed to be his gramma. Wasn’t really thrilled about it!
