Seen Any Good Movies Lately?

Oh, my gosh, that movie was SO BAD. I found myself wondering if it was supposed to be a parody. I usually like Kidman, but wow. What a stinker of a movie.

" Babygirl may be an erotic thriller, but don’t sleep on how funny it is too. Half the joy is in watching these two characters dance with one another in such a way that both parties feel like they’re playing a part rather than feeling comfortable in their own skin."

other options now streaming…

:+1:t3::+1:t3:think of it as an extended snl skit

We watched it today on Amazon Prime. . A couple funny scenes but thought it was just okay. I do like Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon. If anybody here watches it, be sure to watch it through the credits.

We just finished watching it. We thought it was ok, but didn’t think they had any chemistry.

Good cameo appearances by Peyton Manning and Fortune Feimster. Leanne Morgan is a scene stealer as Reese’s older sister Gwyneth. And, like Talladega Nights and previously mentioned, don’t miss the credits.

I loved Talladega Nights. Will Ferrell was one of the reasons I wanted to see this movie. Plus I was in the mood for something funny and mindless!
I agree tthat the older sister character was great.

We belatedly saw A Complete Unkown yesterday. My husband walked out saying Timothée Chalamet deserved the nomination, but he was equally impressed by Edward Norton’s portrayal of Pete Seeger.

I don’t remember sexual violence in History of Violence, but there is a horrific scene in Eastern Promises.

We watched HERE last night, really enjoyed it. My husband and I both grew up here, my parents owned their home for 50 years (175 years old), I sold it after they passed, H’s parents bought their house before he was born, we now live in it (110 years old). Lots of history here (love old photos with horses and carriages).

I loved the first Den of Thieves, in large part due to the framing of the police and bank robbers as two sides of the same coin. Based on the reviews, it appears that Gerard Butler’s character is simply taking the final step over the line and joining the thieves (unless, of course, he is simply going deep undercover - no spoilers please).

I’ll wait for the price to drop on streaming services; I cannot bring myself to pay $19 to rent, or $25 to buy the movie.

DH and I watched Conclave on our flight. We hadn’t read anything about it, but we like Ralph Fiennes and Stanley Tucci. It exceeded our expectations and we really liked it. I recommend it.

Saw Lee - with Kate Winslet, about a 1930s model who became a professional photographer during the Blitz and then became a topnotch war photographer. Some of the iconic photographs most people think of when they think of death camps are hers.

Not to be confused with “Here”, “I’m Still Here” is excellent. It’s nominated for Best Picture and is showing on Apple TV. We were able to see it at a theatre. It reminded me of “This is Us”, following a family over several years.

Oh, was it a ‘flight’ movie or did you download it? I’m flying United on Sunday and would bring a laptop if I could watch that.

Last year I watched half of Barbie and learned I was the only person in the World who didn’t like it.

I didn’t download it. I watched it on our flight from Chicago to Kona. You might want to check the United app. From the menu, pick “WiFi and entertainment” under “For your flight”.

I loved playing with my Barbie as a child, but that movie was awful.

Yay, Conclave is on my flight

I have to say the United website is really bad. I searched for movies, searched the inflight magazine, nothing came up and only when I went into the flight on the app on my phone, not computer, did it come close to what you said. ‘Wifi’ got me to the page where I could buy wifi on the flight (and buy food, and upgrade my seat). $$$$

I also couldn’t change my name on my profile to include my middle name to match my passport with TWO customer service agents to help, after the BOT couldn’t help.

I feel like most people either really love Barbie or hate it. I liked it, but what I really loved was being treated to it by my daughter for my birthday. We did have some good laughs together.
