Did you see the first Accountant movie? Ben Affleck’s character is autistic.
Yes, but it felt like more than that. If he was a woman, I would have said he had too much work done and that he now has an old man’s voice. But I was trying to be nicer
Didn’t see Jaws then (age 12) and not seeing it now. I have a vivid imagination and don’t need a movie to make me more scared . I do remember the related SNL Land Shark skit though. And yelling that every time we ran into the water at the beach.
I’d be way too scared to watch it in that pool setting but how cool is that for an option!!!
Jaws fan here. Saw this shirt at my dog’s grooming appt today and had to purchase it for her.
I had an intercom system to buzz visitors into my apt in college. The response to ‘Hello’ was always “Landshark”. Or "Candygram’ Or “I’m from the Jehovah’s Witnesses”
We were hilarious.
Just saw “The Phoenician Scheme” with my daughter. 5 minutes in I couldn’t wait for it to be over. All style, no substance. I tried to think of the last Wes Anderson movie I really enjoyed. Maybe Moonrise Kingdom? This wasn’t that.
DH and I saw “The Life of Chuck” in the theater and really enjoyed it. A very different movie, so I won’t say anything about it, except that it’s a non-horror story by Stephen King. It has many layers to it, fun to talk about afterwards. DH didn’t “get” it at all - he was surprised when I explained it to him, ha! I thought they made it pretty obvious.
Not every critic loved it, but Ebert gave it five stars.
We revisited two of our favorite movies this weekend: Wag the dog and Up in the air.
Jaws was my first “car date” back when it came out. I actually had a crush on date’s brother, but this was as close as I was going to get.
I think I may be the only person over 50 who only saw Jaws for the first time within this year. I remember it being quite a hit when it came out, but I just watched it this week for the first time.
It happens!
I’m probably the only person in the world who hasn’t seen Wicked.
I saw Jaws back in the day. But I have not seen Wicked.
Read it, don’t plan to see it.
Haven’t seen Wicked. I’ve seen the broadway play at least twice. If it were on one of the streaming services I have, I’d watch. But so far it’s not.
Never saw Jaws – I enjoy the beach and figured watching Jaws might cause me to enjoy it less.
Never saw Wicked. Since childhood I don’t like anything Wizard of Oz related – the wicked witch really scared me as a youmg kid and my mom insisted we watch the movie every year.
Guess I’m just a scaredy cat
Haven’t seen Wicked either. Then again, I hadn’t seen Frozen until I was captive on a transatlantic flight last year, so it may be a while.
The Wizard of Oz was my daughter’s favorite movie. She first saw it when she was 3 and a half. She had a Dorothy birthday party when she turned 4 and all her friends dressed up as characters - the witch, the tin man, the scarecrow, her sister was a ‘monkey wing’ (and also had to play all supporting roles as bad witch, good witch, monkeys, Toto for the rest of the year), and Dennis was Superman (there’s always one, isn’t there?). Every day after that, for 2 years, she started the day by asking “Is my Dorothy dress clean”? I think she went through 5 pairs of red sparkly shoes. She learned how to rewind the VCR so she could memorize all the words; she’d memorize sections and tell me “I’m up to the Lion” Not just the songs, ALL the words. “Elvira Gulch, if I weren’t a christian women, well I’d…” We spent two years going to every production you can think of - Oz in the Park, Oz on Ice, Children’s Theater, Musical dinner theater. She’d hear Judy Garland singing and ask “Why is Dorothy singing this song?” We lived the Wizard of Oz.
Her Dorothy dress is in her treasure box, along with her baby book, baby blankets, girl scout vests. She was never scared. She’s seen Wicked several times, but I haven’t.
I went to Wicked with my husband and son. None of us liked it.
I do’n’t think I’ve seen it either!
We had tickets to see the play when it was in DC, but for some reason I wound up selling them, and have never seen it.
I have seen “Wicked” on stage and also the movie- enjoyed both.
I have still never seen “Jaws”! It came out when I was planning a trip to Florida and I was afraid I would not want to go to the beach if I saw it. Somehow I have never gotten around to watching it. Maybe need to watch it now.
