What is the point of getting anything above a 3.0 unweighted? Wouldn;t everyone just get straight bs? Does high school record impact anything else but undergrad admission to college and scholarships? What are the reasons for getting A’s in your classes now?

Reasons to keep doing well:
-they could reject you if you go down too much
-val/sal if that applies to your situation
-finals (AP/IB exams that may get you credit)
-work ethic (don’t go to college after not having worked for 8 months!)
and
-integrity! take pride in doing your best.

Two words- Final Report.

The college that you decide to go to DOES see your final grades in your senior classes. And yes, they could recind admission if they fall too far. Plus, why not do your best?

And one more thing- if you’re in AP classes, the workload sometimes gets a lot lighter after the AP exams anyway.

do remember that college will be a lot harder than high school. if you take a 6 month slackoff, followed by a two month summer vacation, it’ll be hard to get back on your feet come 1st semester in college.

kick back a little, but dont let ur work ethic evaporate

the only thing above that seems to be worth it is ap exams…so basically if a college is not going to take lit, gov ap then it’s not worth it to even bother doing well in those classes? like just don;t even bother to read anything O.o?
edit: is there even any benefits of taking the ap exams that your undergrad is not going to accept for credits/prereqs?

No- do well in the class no matter what. Then once you’ve decided on a college, see if they take AP credit.

But if you’re a senior and the school doesn’t take AP credit, then taking the AP exam is probably pointless. If you’re a junior you could always use it for college admissions stuff.

admission officers don;t really care about your grade on ap exams only on the grades for the ap class…atleast according to several admission offcers.
-YES senior…so yea…O.o

If you get waitlisted…

So basically second semester senior year does not matter at all once you are accepted to college so like a 3.5 is ok O.o

What are you senior planning to do once you graduate from hs during the summer before going to college?

They might not care about your grades on AP exams, but I’m sure that AP classes prepare you for the SAT IIs, which they do look at (depending on where you want to go).

I have to work the summer before college. My family isn’t rich and if I don’t get a job I’m going to have some serious loans/debt.
