Senior grades

Just wondering… will Columbia care if I get a couple of B’s this semester? Not like I plan on doing so, but there’s always the possibility…

The following are three pages on this topic from A is for Admission, a 1996 book about Ivy League admissions. It was written by a former Dartmouth admissions officer. Given that it’s neither the same school nor the same years, please take it with a grain of salt, but it can be very useful.

“If you go from 5 A’s to 2 A’s and 3 B’s you will not receive a letter,” just about describes my position… I mean Im definately not going to get C’s or anything. I just find it harder and harder to concentrate in AP Lit and AP Physics…

Then you’ll probably be fine. I’m sure it’s a pain in the ass for the admissions office to tell you you have to go to school somewhere else, then find someone to fill your spot from the wait list, etc. I’m guessing that for their convenience you have to have a major slide.

You don’t really save much money by taking AP’s, jus you get out of electives

Besides that, I’m thinking my grades will take a fall but I’m not too worried
