senior grades

does iu require senior grades? thanks

Yes, your guidance office will send them your grades at the close of senior year.

And IU (as all colleges do) does have the right to rescind admission offers if your grades are bad (although generally this means you would have to have about a 2.5 GPA or lower with at least one D to get bounced at IU-B). Schools like UCLA and the University of Washington rescinded quite a few students three years ago–here’s the link on that:

(it’s in the last three paragraphs)

If you read the threads on CC, you’ll see that Cornell, UCLA, and UC Berkeley are all known for rescinding people quickly once the GPA falls during the senior year (anything 3.0 or below). IU-B is not quite as quick to do so, but they have done it.

IU does receive your senior grades and they do take notice. My son was accepted last year with a 3.14 GPA (took many honors classes and no grade below C). In his last semester of high school he got a D in a tough “Discrete Math” class. IU sent him a letter after receiving his final grade transcript to let him know that his admission letter stated that he was expected to continue his good work and that he would be expected to work hard at IU. Fortunately his admission was not rescinded (his GPA actually went up a wee bit due to high grades he received in other classes the last semester of high school).
