<p>ok, so i have this wonderful idea for a senior prank except it is mucho complicated, here it is…</p>

<p>the place:
the gym in my school has no ceiling so the rafters are exposed, and they are heavy steel. they are strong enough to hold the basketball hoops, speakers, and various other banners and signs my school has hung up. another thing about the gym is there are 8 skylights equally places throughout the roof.</p>

<p>the time:
i have checked charts for the moon calendar and picked the perfect date where there is no moon, and it will be done at night (for two nights… prep then the actual prank)</p>

<p>the biggest variables:

  1. a volkswagen car shell so its very light, if possible cut into four parts (front, back, left side, and right side) it will be painted all black, and on the roof will be painted seniors '08 in the school colors
  2. a master key to the school… already have it but the school randomly changes all the locks so…
  3. harnesses, and ropes, if i am going to be swinging around the rafters 30 to 40ft in the air i want to be safe
  4. steel cables and pinch things that are easy and quick to use</p>

<p>the first night:
prep time… so the car will be completely painted by then, we will set up areas for the belay lines, and loosen the bolts on the skylight we will be using, also a practice run wouldn’t hurt, maybe plant the steel cables in the rafters, less to carry the next night, and also hide the parts of the shell in the woods nearby, and camoflage with brown tarps and leaves</p>

<p>second night:
the real deal now, enter the building and put the shell parts in the gym directly below the area it is going to be, then have me in the rafters setting up ropes so people on the ground can suspend the parts in the air one by one as i connect them to the rafters (i will make sure to secure then with extra chains… i dont want any lawsuits) connect all the four pieces together in the air, people exit out of the builing, and i exit through the skylight. then finally pull out.</p>

<p>the final product:
my school doesn’t have enough room to have the whole student body eat in the caf. so the sophs and frosh eat in the gym, so it will def be seen (maybe i didnt mention it earlier, but the car shell will be postioned at an angle so the roof will be read easily from the ground) anyway it will be too far up for the custodians to do anything about that day, even if it is only one day its up its worth it… also i side stepped the whole “senior pranks can’t jepordize a school day” rule, and as long as we are smooth about the breakin and enter thing we should be good…</p>

<p>tell me what you guys think, also as you can tell i am really serious about this, i love pranks, and my school is horrible at the them so i want to leave my mark, if anyone has any suggestions let me know</p>

<p>Security cameras?</p>

<p>Our new principal is really strict about stuff like this, so they’d review the tapes and track me down. Then I’d probably get suspended or expelled.</p>

<p>But, sounds really good if you don’t have that issue at your school.</p>

<p>yea we have a few cameras around the school, from what i have observed none near the point of entry, and even to be safe we will be wearing all black with things to cover our faces, also we will prob park our cars in a driveway of a student farther away bc the cops circle the school a few times every night, also 2 years ago the seniors got caught for putting thousands of cricket in the school bc they were stupid enough to pay for them with a credit card, so everything we use will be paid with cash</p>

<p>hopefully i will pull it off flawlessly so they wont know who it is, the whole planning in advance thing really helps, also i am taking a forensics class, and i know it sounds stupid but it really helps knowing how people mess up on crimes</p>

<p>Not to be rude, but I think it is kind of implausible. Not all together impossible…but close. How would you get on the roof? How would you enter through the skylight? Then, how would you secure yourself to the rafters without the risk of falling? How could one person practically assemble the car? If you had more people up high, could you really be okay with the fact that something could go wrong and they could die? How could you live with yourself if your friends got expelled and their colleges rescinded their offers? What if it happened to you? What if, after this, the school officials got so mad that they said anybody masterminding a senior prank in future years would be suspended, expelled, or not allowed to walk. Why ruin a tradition to do a totally off the wall one? There are tons other things that could go wrong with this, but lets pretend it goes off without a hitch, no one is hurt and the school isn’t mad. When the news reporter is asking you how you did it, they ask how you got in the school and when its found out that you got hold of a master key, school officials could be fired because of this. School security is not a laughing matter in today’s society. (and how can you be totally sure that the car won’t fall down?) </p>

<p>Its not worth it. Besides, if you try, somebody could die, become paralyzed, get expelled or suspended etc.</p>

<p>I say you should come up with something less risky.</p>

<p>I think that for breaking and entering in your school, they may not let you walk at graduation.</p>

<p>Yeah, fun in theory but not exactly a sure thing…it’s not like you’re at CalTech or anything where they take this all in stride. I think the possiblity of seriously hurting yourself or others is definately NOT worth the glee you will feel…IF you are able to pull this off. Wouldn’t want my kids to risk screwing up their college admissions for breaking and entering and causing malicious mischief…I know I’m a fuddy duddy ol’ Mom but that my 2 cents.</p>

<p>totally understand your concern, but i have also thought over all these questions as well;

  1. My school has multiple layers of roof, they are all acessable through ladders, attached to the building.
  2. I have already checked out the skylights, they are thick plastic shells bolted to a medal lining that is in the ceiling, the bolts are ont he outside so with the right tools and a little strength they will screw off.
  3. We will not be securing ourselves to the rafters, we will be lowered into the gym, there are to large pine trees near the roof , we will set up belay lines so someone will be on the other side of the rope, also we can exit by either being pulled up through the skylight again, or lowered to the floor.
  4. We are not assembling a car, we are assembling a fool proof car shell, that means it looks liek the car, but it has absolutley no insides, the doors will be welded shut and if i can configure it right, it should just be a few latches to connected, easy & clean
  5. People are going to assemble the car on the ground, the windows will be removed so ropes will be strung through the open cavities and then pullied up
  6. I doubt anyone would die bc the people i would choose to go up with me would be educated in rock climbing, ropes that can withstand a full vw beetle are not going to snap
  7. no i would not be able to live with myself if someone did fall, so you have brought to my attention i should probably pull the pole vaulting mats under us.
  8. we will not get expelled, and colleges will not rescind our offers bc we will simply not get caught, with enough observation and planning i will know exactly what would be going on at what time.
  9. Our school already has that rule in place, there is nothing i can do to it.
  10. It’s not totally off the wall, it is planned hopefully to perfection.
  11. The news reporters will not ask questions to me beacuse no one will know who did it.
  12. Master keys have been stolen already, they dont fire teachers and custodial staff over this beacuse of the ever changing locks.
  13. The car won’t fall beacuse i will do research, i will add extra supposrt to it, and the plan is to have the lightest possible lookalike to a car.
  14. I am not walking graduation anyway, i have a camp i have to be at a week before school end, i’ll be getting my diploma in the mail.</p>

<p>hah thank you, the date is quite a while away, but the planning is never ending, i mean to the point of lookng through blueprints in the town library, i really want this prank to be completely safe and memeorable, its something that should be laughed at and nothing more</p>

<p>haha its not going to fall, steel cables are ordered with specific weight tolerances, when i know the weight of the car we will buy cables with tolerances way higher</p>

<p>haha the thing about my pranks is i clean up after myself, you can erase ip addresses, takes a while but thank you for bringing it to my attention</p>
