Senior year GPA?

When you apply to college, does the senior year grades for the first term count towards you final gpa you send to colleges? Deciding whether or not to take 4 aps or 3aps.
Thanks!

It depends upon the school. Typically, the expectation is that you continue along the trajectory you were on with your earlier grades. A significant drop could affect admissions and scholarships.

You should be fine with 3 or 4 APs. What you should ask yourself is whether the 4th AP can get you out of taking the same course in college. Cheaper to get credit from AP than from tuition. It can also be nice to avoid courses that are not your forte and focus your college career more on courses you like. AP courses can give you more options.

@Troveaux
Thank you! I am deciding on AP Seminar a class that colleges don’t offer credit for but it can help a lot with research writing and analysis. Would colleges keep in mind that the courses I’m taking are harder classes and that might account for the drop in gpa? Also I signed up for World Literature Honors for a half year course but would that be necessary considering I have AP Seminar? That class replaces my foreign language class.
