How does my schedule for senior year look? …Will I have no social life? I’m aiming for pretty selective schools. Any tips on particular subjects?

AP Lang
AP Spanish Lang
AP Stats
AP Environmental
AP World
Consumer Education (required)/Drawing (as my electives, one per semester)

From what I’ve heard, World and Environmental are among the easier subjects, especially if you’re a senior, Lang is apparently usually taken during junior, and IDK about statistics.

Drop Environmental. Why? Well, I’ll tell you why good sir/madam.

I doubt that there will be a significant difference in taking 4 vs 5 APs.

Even if there is, it’s * environmental science *. Nobody really considers it a core subject anyway. Keeping it wouldn’t impress adcoms that much (or any).

It would give you a period in the day to get a head start on your homework so that you don’t have to do a lot when you come home.

More free time = more time to work on College Apps.

Less stress. This is key. Less stress = you will be happier.

Your other classes are impressive enough that they will overshadow removing one class.

Maybe they’re interested in Environmental? Plus, then they won’t have four years of science. It’s not as impressive as any of the other AP Sciences, but it’s better than nothing. There’s also the possibility of college credit.

OP could have taken two sciences junior year. I have many friends who combined AP Biology with Honors Physics. And a great deal of “pretty selective schools” don’t accept AP credit.

The only reason I’d stay in ES is if I were interested in it.

Fair enough, in that case you’re right that Environmental is unimpressive, but disregarding the fact that those schools still want four years of science.

You’ll do fine with that. If anything, if your school is anything like mine, AP World will be the hardest. I don’t know why people think it’s easy, it was hell for me, but it was my favorite class lol.

Hmm…interesting. I’m taking Environmental because, like some of you said, I figure it’s better than taking no science at all. And it’s supposedly an “easier” AP science. Thanks for the advice!
