***SEPTEMBER 2015 ACT DISCUSSION THREAD***

Like @tan075 said, Some of us haven’t even got our composite scores yet. So we would highly appreciate it if you didn’t complain about your writing scores. I get that you can’t send scores unless you have the writing part but at least you know your composite score which is going to be given more weightage than your writing.

Is this unusual for scores to take this long, or is it par for the course? None of my other kids took the ACT, but we live in the midwest now, so everyone takes it here, it seems.

So, what to do, while waiting on writing score and applying early action? Do you send a screen shot of the composite minus writing? And some of you don’t even have your composite scores yet? Not impressed, ACT. I hope the SAT scores aren’t delayed. D took that one two weeks ago.

This is definitely way out of the norm @mstee
Usually it only takes 10 days + 1 week (just for the writing score)

@mstee This is definitely not normal. My daughter took the ACT twice and both times her ACT with writing scores came back within 2 weeks. I believe that this is definitely due to the new writing format and scoring.

I just heard that ACT lost some answer booklets from a school in Maryland! No wonder why some have not received scores.

September is probably the month that has the largest number of test takers, which is probably why it’s taking so long.

I swear if I do not get my MC scores back this week…
Anyone else not have ANY scores back? Did you do Sunday testing?

@gearsstudio While I would imagine September is a larger administration than, say, June, I would be shocked if October wasn’t the biggest test date. People on CC (high-scorerers) disproportionately take tests at different times than other kids. We view it as: we have all summer to study and prepare, then take it in September before school starts and other EC’s. Most people prefer the October. I know October SAT is biggest, then again they don’t offer September.

Still waiting for writing score. I’m not exactly the most patient person.

And for those of you without composites, what the heck is with that?

@bebitz Me too. I am not patient at all…

Goodness… What happens if ACT Writing scores don’t come out by the early decision deadline?

@hwksltz No, I haven’t yet received my Writing score :-/ This is really crappy service. I already submitted one of my EA apps and I’ll be submitting 2 next week. I’ll be receiving my SAT subject test scores that were taken a month after the ACT next week. Hopefully the guys at ACT give out the Writing scores this week.

Check now. Just got my son’s writing score.

@tan075 @CCMember97
I think something’s going on here. We should call up the guys who administered the test in Bangalore and see what’s happening. Its been 5 and a half weeks and no one from our test centre has gotten their MCQ scores.

just got writing score: 27! I have a composite of 35, so I don’t know how colleges will assess the score. Do I need to worry about my writing score???

@chillkitty 27 is 95 percentile

@chillkitty A 27 in Writing is a 95%. Congratulations:-)

Thanks, guys! Good luck to everyone else–let’s hope this is the week all scores are released!

A 27 is probably equivalent to a 9 on the old scale.

got my score today! 24! don’t know wether it’s good or not? got a 30comp

I’m sorry to say this, but the people who told you it’s a 95 are wrong. I just checked the score report average sheet… A 27 is an 86, which is still very good!

I got a 31 on Writing. I was expecting something like a 36…
Oh well.
