***SEPTEMBER 2015 ACT DISCUSSION THREAD***

The past 2 times I’ve taken it it has been 10 days. Not sure if it’s changed to 13 though

@niccconway the website said “multiple choice scores released online: September 25th - xxx”. They said “multiple choice scores” not “scores for those that did not take optional writing”. It seems like multiple choice will be available for plus writing people as well. Last time, I had no idea scores were even posted online and waited the full month and three days for it in the mail.

But act student clearly says that they will be posted on or after the 25th so count on that

It’s 13 days for this one. Their website says mc scores will be posted starting September 25. Idk why the time it takes varies between tests though… For the October scores, we will have to wait like 2 1/2 weeks!

The 25th is supposed to be the first release date. However, that does not mean that you will definitely receive your score. My son had to wait a few weeks after the first release date for his June scores. This time around I am not hopeful that he will receive his scores on the 25th.

I agree @HelianthCaelum, it is good you are here and you will find a lot of helpful information.

Don’t worry about an ones score but your own!

Probably late in replying but oh well talking about this ACT makes me feel a bit better!

Compared to the April ACT I feel as though this one was easier in every subject besides math. I also had form 73D
English I finished with about 5 minutes to spare which is usual and I felt pretty confident about every answer except for around 3ish which I tend to second guess myself a lot so I’m hoping for a score in the 30’s.
Math was a struggle. I got through the first half pretty easily and then it started to get pretty hard. The fact that I suddenly had the strongest urge to pee halfway through definitely did not help me out. I feel as though they put a lot more probability on this math test and probability is my worst math section. They also put a lot of math that I’m doing in my higher level math class now like how do they expect other people to answer those questions haha?
Reading I thought was actually easy. I was semi interested in the passages which helped a lot. The double passage at the beginning kind of scared me but I was expecting it and I just worked through it like the fighting scientists passage. I had about 5 minutes to spare here which is a new personal best. Compared to the April ACT I feel like the reading was much easier.
Science I also thought was much easier than the April ACT. The physics passage all about torques and whatnot was challenging but I think I got most questions right just from the graphs. I feel pretty confident about this section unless I just really screwed up.
I also think the writing format is better and I finished my essay with 5 extra minutes which never happens! So I’m hoping to get in the 30’s this test. Hopefully a 33 but probably not.

@EcSkater I think the curves will be similar to April although I felt it was harder Saturday. I just can’t see them being much more generous.

They may be more generous with the math

What was the April curve?

@evenstevens that’s funny because I wasn’t sure about 3-4 on english and I finished five minutes early…and I thought math got tough at around 45

@arabm2 I posted the curve on the previous page. So people are thinking the curve will be similar to April’s, maybe just a little more generous with the math?

@sgallagher23 Yea I’m usually unsure of around 4 on the english just because test anxiety makes me skeptical of every question and makes me completely forget all my grammar rules haha. At around 40 on the math is when my bladder decided it was more important than the test. But even so the questions got terribly hard I had no clue how to even solve them. I still finished early here but probably because I guessed on the previous 20

English - a couple I was unsure on, but had around 5 minutes extra to really analyze those

Math - I thought was fairly easy, but I hadn’t taken an act before. Had around 20 minutes extra to check which was nice, but math is my strongest subject. last problem almost tripped me up because they asked for a function of the answer

Reading - relatively easy. Didn’t have much extra time didn’t expect it to be so rough

Science - same as reading, some kind of confusing

Essay I thought was very fun and I really liked having 40 minutes (have yet to score higher than an 8 on an SAT essay)

Really hoping to get a 36, but who knows at this point!

@hwksltz I finished science and reading just on time (and did the last science passage in just 5 minutes). No time to check my answers, so hehehe Idk. Hope that my instincts are reliable this time.

But I think these sections are not very difficult compared to other ACT’s. I’ve done 10+ practice tests & past ACT administrations, and it seems this time reading and science are just normal. What we can do now is probably just praying for a lenient curve

Anyone know if ACT scores are released at different times (or dates) in different states?

@AmericanGothic oh… What are some practice tests you do then? Did you do the real released tests (like those in April/Dec round)? I did some and I found that generally 2015 (recent) curve is more lenient than 2014/2013… Like in science there are no skipping. Do you think there will be a skipping here?

hey can I get a predicted score?
English 4-5 wrong
math 3-4 wrong
reading 8-9 wrong
science 6-7 wrong

@real99

E 32-33
M 35
R 27-28
S 30-31

C 31-32

Thanks @Hermit9!
