September ACT Reading: answers

Well, no… because they said the public officials will repeal the toll tax when the public gets enraged because it is only fair to the rich people. They will quickly void the law because they are sensitive to public opinion

For the Piano Passage:

“…and it allowed him to visit the piano shop…” (not sure if this is an exact quote)

Question: What does the “it” refer to?

Something about his schedule/routine changing - the “it” refers to how his new job as a writer has different working hours, location, etc.

"Prose -the one about the house

 1. He didn’t get a plate of cookies
 2. Wasn’t eating with mouth full?"

I believe for the Prose that #2 should be that he didn’t address them properly, because the first few paragraphs overly emphasized that… no?
I forgot the question but I remember that was one of the answers

does anyone remember the answer choices for the question about what would upset Luc the most? a majority of you guys said it was about pianos being transferred by ship but I don’t remember reading about that in the passage. I think I put something along the lines of people that played the piano as a means of making money.

It stated directly in the passage that pianos on ships were his pet peeves… so you can draw the conclusion that he would NOT like that.

jakezhang, the question was what was Mikey NOT doing. He did NOT have a mouthful of cookies in the first paragraph.

And mizunopro, it said that Luc could recognize a piano’s history, and mentioned ship transport as one possible thing he could recognize. In parentheses right afterwards, it said he thought it was the worst thing to do to a piano.

really? i discussed with a bunch of ppl and they said that there was a question where it asked what mikey did to get his punishment (answer was call donna something) and another one where it said what did he not do (which was take cookies)

can someone clarify these questions

im pretty the question was asking why he got the punishment therefore making the asnwer him not addressing them properly

^jakezhang, i remember one of the questions was something like this:
Q 1: Mikey received all of the following for his interruption except…?
-scolding from narrator
-looks from adults
-plate of cookies to keep him quiet
-(i don’t remember)

yea that’s what i was thinking
i think that people are confusing this ? with the other ? asking about what mikey didn’t get in return for his bad behavior (wrong wording)

wait wait Luc wouldn’t be made if they piano was transported by ship… their wasn’t anything about a ship mentioned in their!!

it didnt mention ships directly, but it did say that that was the pet peeve of Luc

yes there was … i believe it was the top paragraph of the second column … it said straight out that he didnt like if they were transported by ship

@jakezhang
oh! i think i remember another one:
Q: Mikey did all of the following when he interrupted except:
-compare a tia to a dog
-come in with mouth full of cookie
-not address them with respect
-(idk)

answer was the one with mouth ull of cookie

i dont remember that being a question i thought it asked what did he get punished for

whatev the question, i’m 100% sure the three answers i came up with is correct. i’m 70% sure of the question.

LOL omg i think i vaguely remember selecting mouth full of cookie now… i do remember seeing that he compared tia to a dog and suddenly realizing it was a NOT problem

haha i hate not being able to remember it … i wish i had photographic memory …

i swear Luc was talking about how he hated musicians who just used the piano exclusively for professional music and he cherished children who would spill drinks and such and loved to learn the piano

he did mention that he hated musicians who just used the piano exclusively for money, but the question something along the lines of “what would **** him off the most” and the most fitting answer was a piano that was on a ship

and yes, piano is furniture
