<li>Talk to a priest or relgious clergyman. They have heard worse, and they are there to listen and advise. They do not judge but understand and empathize.</li>
<li>Get up the courage to talk with your parents. You can tell them the bare minimum or the entire story, including how pressured you feel (but don’t blame them). Go with the flow in that discussion, but try to stay on target. The target is to inform them and to get a lawyer.</li>

<p>You should do these things absolutely as soon as possible, tomorrow if you can. Its best to get a lawyer involved right in the beginning before anything else happens.</p>
<p>There’s a good consensus of opinion so far of what you should do next, starting tomorrow.</p>
<p>As you are dong it, start to tell yourself a new message, that you are not a failure because you are now choosing to take steps to undo this. Start to talk nice to yourself. You will make this come out okay.</p>

It’s not like your the first kid to screw up royally and get yelled at. It’s when they don’t yell, you should worry. It means they’ve given up. </p>

<p>Always? only when it doesn’t seem to a be a real possibility. Have you filled out a college app? How many pages of information, essays, LOR, and transcripts along with a check were necessary? </p>

<p>Good luck nonetheless! We’ve all done that one really stupid mistake in our lives, and bounced right back up after learning valuable lessons. I know it’s hard to see it right now, but trust us, this will all blow over one day and you’ll wake up a smarter, better, humbler person.</p>
<p>I would also get an educational neuropsych evaluation to find out how you got where you are and what you need to do to get where you want to be. Read two books by Mel Levine to understand the type of tests I am talking about: A Mind At A Time and There Is No Such Thing As A Lazy Child. This process will give you an accurate picture of your educational and psychological strengths and weaknesses, as well as strategies to handle them all. I suspect that you will find some compelling reasons, in addition to bad decisionmaking, why you ended up where you are. It may be something really simple to get around, but your really need to delve into how your brain works so that you can use it to your best advantage. Many, many people are having these tests done every day all over the country. They are phenomenal tools.</p>
<p>The bottom line is that if you (with your parents and a lawyer’s help) act quickly to apologize to the individual and university, this short term problem will go away (especially if you promise to get counseling). The long term problem is to make sure that your life is a good one in the future, and you need more information.</p>
<p>Perhaps if you print and show your parents this thread, they will understand your desperation and not add to it. You need them now - make them hear and see you. Tell them you want help and will change. Forgive them if they have hurt you with their words. Easier said than done, but just do it. They love you. Parents make mistakes too. The three of you need to form a team to help you.</p>
<p>Everyone has heard of kids who have done stupid things and have grown up to have extremely successful lives. Just learn from this, and you can be one of them.</p>

<p>Hard to believe this story. To apply using someone’s name, you’d need their Social Security # and need to send their transcripts, recommendations, scores, parent signature, etc. </p>

<p>Hmm, Interesting. Every school my kids applied to required an offical sealed transcript fromt their school. That was about 25 schools in total. We never came accross a college or university that didn’t require an offical paper transcript. </p>

<p>Are you talking about FASFA? different doorway to a college. You can get finanical aid awards without being enrolled. It’s a different loop. You generate the schools for fasfa, not the other way round. </p>

It seems like the applications under both names would be incomplete – yours would be lacking transcripts and scores, and the other person’s would be lacking everything else. Also, all the schools I’ve heard of require test scores to be sent directly, not through the school.</p>

<p>when i applied i used all my information BUT my name, I used the other person’s name instead. everything they got was on that person name. they accepted the test scores from the transcripts which i didnt expect. the aid information was under my real name, they awarded me under my own name but it would come up under the person’s name on my student access log on thing because my ssn was still the same.</p>
<p>when i first applied the other person had applied the year before with her information and the files became all mixed in together causing a confusion to happen and not knowing which person is who. </p>
