Congratulations on the acceptance!

S24 and I visited SHU yesterday. He really liked it and we both found the tour to be much more comprehensive than other Northeast schools we visited. Good facilities, emphasis on low student to teacher ratio (very little TA teaching and several direct prof interaction opportunities), and the internships/proximity to NYC is a plus. He is still waiting to hear from a few more schools by the Dec 15 date but this is a strong possibility for him.

S24 and I are planning to visit SH during either the Open House (2/18) or the Visit Day (2/20), depending on figuring our our schedules.

Anyone knows how snowy does it gets in Feb?

Northeast is hit or miss on snow. New Jersey is on the ocean which really affects the weather. So, it’s unpredictable - often rain when others get snow but can get hit with a foot of snow occasionally. It is not interior New England which is much more consistently snowy

S24 received an email earlier this week from Admissions inviting him to schedule an interview as part of his application process. Anyone else receive a similar invite?

My daughter was also asked to do an interview. I thought that is was because she did not show demonstrated interest at that point, but I guess we will never know! She was admitted about a week later with $84,500 in scholarships over 4 years, so I am not sure why she was asked. My daughter did say that it was pretty casual and low key, and that the admissions officer was very nice. I believe her name was Julia.

I don’t think we ever had that request before getting our acceptance. We did visit and had met with the admission officer from our area so that might be why. Although I wasn’t sure if they had remembered her as it was the summer after Sophomore year.

Congrats on your daughter’s acceptance @u2kelly

S24 never visited SH before, and was not asked for an interview. He just submitted his application and then got the admission letter plus merit info afterward.

Congrats!

Thanks! This is great information and pleasant to see they were generous with their scholarship offer.

It is. My son applied test optional, and was admitted to the 3+3 DPT.

Does it require interview?

Hi!
I submitted my app on 10/29 and heard back on 11/13. I applied to the direct admit Nursing (B.S.N) program and was accepted with a scholarship total of $72,500 over 4 years!

Large public high school in NOVA
3.5 GPA (not sure what my unweighted is)
Positive up trend
3 IB courses/honors/3 duel enrollment classes
Did not submit test scores
2 Varsity sports/clubs/volunteering/job/travel sports

I was shocked to get in because of the semi selective nursing program (51% acceptance rate last year) and my very average GPA and even more shocked to receive money. However, what I think made me stand out was the academy classes my county provides allowing me to take medical terminology, exploring health science, and a Medical Assistance course this year which I’ll obtain a certification and of course other aspects. I also think they are trying to expand their program.

Hopefully this encourages those of ā€œaverageā€ GPAs when its so competitive now days!

He didn’t have to interview.

Wow! How amazing! Congrats! Still waiting on my S24 decision. Applied 11/15. Similar stats to yours, hoping we are as fortunate.

Interesting update on Seton Hall…S24 had a pending application since end of October. He was invited (and scheduled) an interview with admission staff for end of this week, and yesterday received snail mail placing him on the waitlist. Portal updated this morning related to same. Why bother extending an interview meeting?

That’s odd. Was he EA and deferred to RD or put on an RD wait list?

He was EA. Nothing written about RD in the response letter - just straight to waitlist.
