^Interesting that Winter’s Tale has “Lady Sybil” from Downton Abbey in it.

I just saw that- ( I had to look her up)- I think she and Colin Farrell are well cast, but I hope they have chemistry too.
Russell Crowe is sure busy, the director has worked with both Crowe and Connelly in A Beautiful Mind.

Kind of super happy that Zero Dark Thirty is winning all the critics awards.

Bombshell: Les Miserables has debuted to not very stellar reviews.

No-o-o-o-o!!!
I heard it was supposed to be a real crowd pleaser – what’s not to like?

^ The only review I could find at IMDB was in Italian, which I can’t read (or speak, either). But it did seem to give the movie 10 stars.

I will have a very unhappy d if the movie disappoints. We have never gone to the movies on Christmas Day before, but she tells me that this year we have to. So fingers crossed that it’s terrific.

Ive been watching Hobbit week on Steven Colbert. I wasnt very excited, but Im getting there.
I think Ds are seeing it as soon as it comes out, but that doesnt mean they wont be ready to see it again at Christmas.

Rotten Tomatoes has Les Mis at 69% after 16 reviews.

Not great, but not horrible either.

[url=<a href=“http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/les_miserables_2012/]Les”>Les Misérables - Rotten Tomatoes]Les Mis

It’s pretty bad. On Metacritic it’s at 55. Zero Dark Thirty is at 98. Awk.

Finally saw Flight today. Eh.

I really liked the indie film “Safety Not Guaranteed”. You can catch iT on demand. My favorite kind of movie: Few characters, good acting and writing, and reality with some mystical aspects.

What I didn’t like about Flight is that based on the previews I thought Densel Washington’s character was really a stand up guy being blamed unfairly. It turns out he is really kind of a loser.

Saw Lincoln last night - finally! - and thought it was excellent. It is an extremely ambitious movie and did not disappoint. Both my husband and I were moved by it’s beauty and the incredible performances of the cast. We thought it was brilliant.

Loved Life of Pi! Amazingly beautiful!

I was very lucky to see early screenings of The Hobbit (my S loved it, I’m a middling fan of the movies but thought it looked gorgeous.) Also saw Zero Dark Thirty yesterday and it was fabulous.

two movies:

live of pi
anna karenina

loved 'em both

Denzel’s character wasn’t a loser, he was an alcoholic. And without giving anything away, I like how they handled the ending…

So far the Best Film/Picture award count for Zero Dark Thirty is 6 (BSFCA, BOFCA, NBR, NYFCCA, NYFCO, WDCAFCA).

Amour has 1 (LAFCA) but 5 best foreign film awards (BSFCA, NBR, NYFCCA, NYFCO, WDCAFCA).

Lincoln, Argo, Silver Linings Playbook, The Master, Les Mis are still waiting for best film honors.

^More convenient than self counting.

Saw Hitchcock today…really enjoyed it… Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren…can’t go wrong

Just saw the Hobbit. I thought it was better than reviews suggested. The action scenes were intense and prolonged. I did close my eyes at times. It did seemed more aimed at young people, as I think the book was as well.
