<p>Rainy day here so went to the movies again. Today we saw Rush, about Fomula 1 racing. There was a LOT of racing. It was interesting though since it was based on a true story.</p>
<p>We rarely go out for movies, saw 3-D gravity today. Think regular would have been ok. Wanted more stuff 3-D to be worth it. Glad I saw it, but expected/wanted more. Would have liked to see more at the end. I like endings spelled out for me.
Now that I’ve seen it, I am going to read reviews.</p>

<p>S2 is home on Fall Break, so we all went to see “Captain Phillips.” Even though we knew how the story ended, it was still suspenseful & had our hearts racing at several points. It also showed a human side to the Somali pirates - they were answering to a “boss” (warlord) and under stress to perform. I was impressed by the wild-eyed performances of the novice actors as well as the always-masterful acting of Tom Hanks, particularly in the final scenes. We really enjoyed the movie.</p>
<p>Saw Rush last night about Formula 1 racing in the 70s… DH is a big gearhead. WE both loved it, it’s a true story about the rivalry between James Hunt and Nicki Lauda. Lots of exciting race scenes, good acting…will be out on DVD soon I bet.</p>
<p>Liked Gravity - didn’t love it. The experience was great, but as a movie. Eh. </p>
<p>Usual sci-fi questions, why didn’t they pick up some extra oxygen before they headed off for the ISS? For example.</p>
<p>I saw an article mentioning Adore. I like Naomi Watts & Robin Wright but the subject matter.
What is wrong with people?
Im extra skeeved out about that topic because recently women in my water aerobic class ( many of whom are over 65) were not only ogling one of the instructors, but making comments. He is probably 20.
Im sorry but anyone my children’s age or younger I only feel maternal toward, and anything else is yucky.</p>
<p>Kings Of Summer. It came out June this year and I watched it this weekend. IT WAS PHENOMENAL. Seriously. Look it up. The cast, the filming, the script, the location; everything was impeccable.</p>
<p>Saw Prisoners and thought it was pretty good</p>
<p>Saw Gravity in 3D IMAX. For me I would have been bored if it weren’t for the 3D & IMAX. It was over the top for me, but in 3D IMAX it was intense and (for me) I needed full immersion so I didn’t fade away.</p>

<p>Saw “Injustice for All”, Robert Reisch’s film about income inequality. Thought it was great. Interesting and engaging. Also liked “Prisoners” with Jake Gyllenhall and Hugh Jackman. Some said it was too long but it kept me guessing the whole time.</p>
<p>Saw Captain Phillips on Friday night and really enjoyed it. I would give Tom Hanks any award just for that final scene.</p>
<p>This Sunday we did a “double feature”: Rush in the afternoon, followed by a dinner break and then Prisoners. </p>
<p>Both were interesting and well done. It was a good thing we saw them in that order, because Prisoners is a film that really stays with you.</p>
<p>I’m planning to see Captain Phillips, maybe tomorrow. I keep missing movies I want to see, so I am determined to get to them this time.</p>
<p>Highly recommend Gravity. It’s been incredibly highly rated and the 3D is just phenomenal. I was blown away by the technology and how real it is, and truly a good story as well.</p>
<p>Last Vegas, with Michael Douglas, DeNiro, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Cline was adorable.</p>
<p>loved “Enough Said” with Julia Louis Dreyfus and James Gandolfino. He was such a believable kind and gentle guy. One of the “issues” they have as a newly dating couple is his weight/eating, so in some ways sadly it seemed a cautionary tale…</p>
<p>I didnt find the relationship between Julia Louis Dreyfus and James Gandalfino believable. Their was no chemistry, imo. Movie was cute, but their relationship was just stilted, imo.</p>
<p>Not seeing rottentomatoes reviews on Last Vegas and it’s not at my multiplex, yet. One of the few not so amused by the Hangover and hoping this one is good. I’ll look for it, based on you liking it, jym.</p>
<p>Looking forward to seeing “Captain Phillips”. Has anyone who’s seen it also seen the Dutch film “A Hijacking” that came out earlier this year?</p>
<p>Saw “Don Jon” over the weekend. Hilarious, sweet, I’m betting on a nomination for best original screenplay.</p>
<p>I started following Joesph Gordon Levitt on twitter mainly because he is as big of a pearl jam fan as I am & also because he had made some interesting movie choices.
His in character tweets were absolutely hilarious.
Haven’t seen it yet though.</p>
