<p>Hello again I got recalled another fantastic Korean movie named ‘’ My Wife is a gangster ‘’ it is also have some comedy but shows real crime sometimes .Very good movie !</p>

<p>Me too. I saw Gravity last night. Can’t do 3D because of a visual impairment so we saw the regular version. I wasn’t blown away by it. Totally agree that George Clooney was irritating in his predictability and I thought a lot of the dialogue was melodramatic. </p>
<p>I don’t know what I was expecting but I had been looking forward to seeing it since I first saw the previews months ago. </p>
<p>Another movie that everyone loves and I don’t. aoh well. </p>

<p>Count me in as another who didn’t think Gravity was all that great. Maybe I go in with hopes too high?? After reading so many fabulous reviews I was ready for a great movie. It was OK. I thought George Clooney was just being himself, never could think of him as his character. I did enjoy the 3D aspect though. It was my first time to see that in a theater.</p>
<p>Yeah, I’ve never really been a big fan of George Clooney. Love Sandra Bullock but not in that role. </p>
<p>I am very nit picky, I know but here are some of my criticisms. The scene where she hears voices over the radio and hears a baby crying, it’s unecessary to say that it is a baby crying. We can hear it. We can understand what her reaction would be because we know her past history at that point and we know her situation. It doesn’t need to be spelled out. A good director would understand that. Give the audience some credit.</p>
<p>I guess my first thought at hearing her background was that astronauts undergo rigorous mental health testing. She seemed like she had some pretty significant issues- she just drives??? I don’t think they would have cleared her ( although there was that diaper- wearing, cross-country driving, murderer astronaut that they cleared I guess). I don’t know- I was just disappointed in it. Still thinking about Rush though!</p>

<p>I think we may give “Gravity” or “Captain Phillips” a try this weekend. It wasn’t a good summer for me, movie-wise; fall is usually better. I’d enjoy the new “Romeo and Juliet,” even if the script has been chopped up and the critics aren’t enthused, but dh would not. Good to read rave reviews for Paul Giamatti as Friar Laurence.</p>
<p>But coming up!!! I love to see the Oscar hopefuls that are rolled out before January 1st. I am especially looking forward to “Saving Mr. Banks” with Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks, about Walt Disney and P.L. Travers, author of Mary Poppins, and their relationship while Disney was trying to get permission to film Mary Poppins.</p>

<p>Just came back from seeing Gravity in 3D. When I saw the trailer, it looked like a movie about a couple of people floating around in space and trying to survive. It didn’t motivate me at all to see it, but our older D is home for fall break, and she wanted to see it with us, so we couldn’t resist. My original perception of the movie was correct, and I don’t get what all the hoopla is about it. There was no plot. I found it boring.</p>
<p>Saw Gravity last night Imax3D. I enjoyed the 3D and large IMAX screen. We have not gone out to a movie in years. Theaters have lost their appeal with smaller screens, higher prices and rude patrons.</p>
<p>Anyway, it was…okay. Not as great as all the hype. i had trouble separating the stars from the characters. My thought process: bullock looks great…musta been working out a bunch…George Clooney playing…George Clooney in space…easy on the eyes ol George :)</p>

<p>The trailer for the next Hobbit installment in 3D was awesome though.</p>
<p>I didnt think Gravity was boring, but when it looked like Bullock in a tube while a movie of space played behind her- that was distracting.
This was Cinerama 3-D not Imax.</p>
<p>Just saw American Dreams in China. It was a fascinating semi-biographical about the EDU company in China that helps Chinese prepare fur TOEFL, GRE and other academic tests. My folks and we thought it very well done:)!</p>
<p>DH and I saw Captain Phil today. We both thought it was really good.</p>
<p>I just saw Gravity. Regular, not 3D. I found it quite fascinating. I spent a good deal of the time writhing in my seat, giving “body English” to the attempts of the characters to latch on to structures, climb, etc. Since I had the world’s worst physics teacher in HS, I wasn’t bothered by scientific issues. 
I thought Sandra Bullock was great. Clooney was Clooney, but he was used well. I think the movie needed someone with his warmth and charm and manliness in that role.</p>
<p>Avoiding spoilers, I thought the plot was audacious in certain respects. I was shamelessly hoping that they were going to go for the sentimental Hollywood ending.</p>
<p>We belatedly saw *Metallica: Through the Never *and enjoyed it thoroughly. The concert part of the movie was great and the interwoven story was entertaining. I can’t believe that I actually enjoy metal music!</p>
<p>Recently watched two films that had the similar plot device to discuss two very different themes. Both had small casts with incredibly acting by the leads. Both were at Sundance but a year apart. </p>
<p>A couple of weeks ago I watched Adore (or Two Mothers to some markets). It was an Australia film about two women who end up falling into relationships with each others’ 20-year-old sons. It becomes very complicated with a lot of questions about age, etc. Really enjoyed it but it did have some soap opera elements. </p>
<p>It is a very taboo subject to talk about and make a film about and amazed me to find a film made a year earlier of similar subject.</p>
<p>Last night I watched Hello I Must Be Going (points to you for knowing where the title comes form) which premiered in 2012 at Sundance and was nominated for the Grand Jury prize and since then has become pretty unknown. It deals with a recently divorced woman who is living with her parents and ends up meeting a family friend’s son. A relationship in turn happens and the same questions of age differences come up. Incredibly emotional but also makes you laugh.</p>
<p>“Hello I Must Be going” is a song Groucho Marx sang in “Animal Crackers.” I could hum the tune but don’t remember the words. Thanks for the points. :)</p>

<p>I liked Capt Phillip, though I was always aware of Tom Hanks acting. He is reliable. The terrorists added the realistic touch as did the Seals.</p>
<p>Gravity (3D). To be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect–many positive reviews and some criticism. I’m not a huge sci fi fan however I do like both Bullock and Clooney. But—</p>
<p>I was blown away. I didn’t have any problem getting past the “stars” in the roles and immediately became immersed. The photography, the stunning overall visual effects and sound track were incredible. The acting-wow. I haven’t been PHYSICALLY affected by a movie this much in a long time, maybe ever. It was that intense. In fact, it wasn’t just a movie for me, it was an experience.</p>
<p>We saw Captain Phillips and liked it. Not having read the book it’s based on, I’m wondering what events were changed for dramatic effect, not that being kidnapped by pirates really requires much mock dramatic effect.</p>
