Community is another favorite

Just watched the first two episodes of Under the Dome, third is tonight at 10pm. It streams free on Amazon Prime and Comcast On Demand. Not bad at all. Plus it stars Dean Norris–this time as a corrupt politician–whetting my appetite for the Breaking Bad finale next month.

I watched the premiere of Under the Dome and liked it, but couldn’t get my head around some of the major plot and character changes from the book. I’ll probably watch the rest of it someday - it did seem well done. But the part of the book that resonated most with me was how quickly society fell apart; if the series goes on for an entire season, or longer, that would dilute the impact for me.

The casting seems excellent. Big Dean Norris fan here, also looking forward to Breaking Bad returning (next month!!!).

Newsroom on HBO. Season 2 premier is next Sunday, July 14. Writing is excellent and hits both sides of political debate, but does skewer the uninformed.

Gossip girl hands down. Best show ever.

Haven’t read the book, but King was a fan of the Twilight Zone as a child. I wonder if he might have been influenced by two episodes, “The Shelter” and “The Monsters are Due on Main Street.” In both episodes, small town America perceives it is under attack–from a nuclear attack and aliens, respectively–and society falls apart within the span of less than a twenty minute TV show.

I just discovered the show new girl… Love it

New Girl is our favorite! New Girl and The Killing. Funny combination, I know
We just got my mom watching New Girl, too.

Anyone watching Orange is the Black–a Netflix original by Jenji Kohan creator of Weeds? Similar humor, fun summer viewing about a Smithie in federal prison.

I’m known to do marathon viewing of series that I don’t get to watch during the seasons, but I love Homeland, House of Card, Downton Abbey, Ian’s I just watched all 3 seasons of Games of Throne. I’m in love with Peter Dinklage.

Just finished watching all of Sports Night on Amazon Prime and am now watching Studio 60.

Sports Night was one of the best shows ever on TV, and I don’t even like sports! The writer had to let it go to focus on the more popular West Wing, unfortunately, though WW was very good too.

D and I have been watching The Fosters, and it’s been a fantastic spring board for discussion of many topics important to families with teens. We actually know a family almost identical to the Fosters, right down to the biracial moms, the one bio kid and adopted kids. Fortunately, they don’t have nearly as much dram going on as their TV counterparts. We are sad the show is ending for the summer and hope it returns next year.

As an FYI, Under the Dome is only going to be 13 episodes… ummm scratch that… I thought I had read somewhere that it was only going to be one season but while I was fact checking, I found this: [Comic-Con: Will Barbie and Julia Get Together on Under the Dome? - seattlepi.com](http://www.seattlepi.com/entertainment/tv/tvguide/article/Comic-Con-Will-Barbie-and-Julia-Get-Together-on-4678172.php)

that they are holding out for another season. Go figure.

Loved Orange is the New Black. I watched the first two episodes of Under the Dome but it didn’t hold my attention.

I recently re-watched My Mad, Fat Diary. It’s an English show with six episodes so far that I absolutely love. It’s more for teens but I think it’s really well done. They are filming for the second season right now.

Discovered Sherlock with Benedict C on Netflix. Love it!

Top Chef Masters on Bravo starts Wed!

Bunheads was officially canceled. Though it took a few years to get Gilmore Girls up to speed, Amy Sherman Palladino didn’t get a 2nd shot at creating a real show for girls.

As for Under the Dome, I can’t get it straight: is the phrase “badly acted and poorly written” or “poorly acted and badly written”?

Best show is the Endeavor series on PBS; it’s the early years of Inspector Morse.

Montegut- more of Sherlock will be coming out in January.
Fortysomething is a 2003 series starring ( & directed by) Hugh Laurie as a doctor facing a midlife crisis and features B.C. as his eldest son.

Suits is back!

I’ve started watching Prison Break seasons on a recommendation while I wait for my fall shows to return. It’s interesting, the acting is good…having a hard time with the level of violence.
