Does anyone watch Shark Tank? I love it and cannot get enough of it! I find myself talking out loud to the “contestants” and telling them to take a deal or walk away!

It’s one of the few shows DH & I watch together.

We like to guess if they’ll get a deal or not and which shark it will be.

My H and I also love that show–but we hate “Mr. Wonderful”–he is unnecessarily nasty. He is definitely a shark. I understand that the goal of the investors is to make money, but I don’t see the upside of being so ruthless–it certainly isn’t helpful to the person looking for funding.

It’s a brilliant idea for a show!

It’s based on Dragon’s Den which originated in Japan, I believe, and which is on in countries all over the world. The Canadian version has been on for seven or eight seasons. Kevin O’Leary is also on Dragon’s Den.

Cuban is fun to watch. It’s interesting to see the different valuations people put on businesses.

Love the show! I learn a lot.

I like the show, too.

A guy from my area was on a few of weeks ago and made a deal with the woman (Laurie?). It was especially interesting since we had bought, and liked, his product. H and I both thought he sold out too cheap. They had a followup article in the newspaper after the show aired, which was several months after it was taped and the deal was struck, and he claimed that the help he was receiving from her to grow the business was even better than he had hoped for.

Has Barbara been replaced permanently?

“Cuban is fun to watch”

He is my parent’s good friend’s nephew. They got to go out on his yacht last year. Said he was charming.

Seems like Barbara has been binned.

There was an IU alum on the show who turned down a deal for his CoatChex company. He’s still trying to make it and recently was at NY fashion week

I get into and out of the show. Sometimes me and my BF laugh at how awful some of the ideas are

Oh, motherbear332, what was the product, do you recall? We watch with a computer on and because it’s on DVR we can pause it, look up the product, and do a little research ourselves. We bought a “I want to draw a cat for you” which I always assumed would end up as a Hoops and YoYo kind of greeting card “hero”.

Kevin (Mr. “Wonderful”) is the Simon Cowell of Shark Tank! I like Mark, Robert and Laurie almost all the time, they seem like they are thoughtful “sharks”.

I like the show. It’s interesting what business ideas people come up with and seeing what the sharks are interested in. Some of the ideas are great, some make you wonder why you didn’t think of it, and some are just stupid.

Since I don’t trust any of the so-called ‘reality shows’ to actually be real rather than completely fake or at best, staged embellished reenactments, I googled around and from what I’ve found this show is real. The sharks don’t know what will be presented to them beforehand and what they offer generally sticks. However, after the deal on the show is done, if something turns out to be not up and up, like if the presenter misstated something or lied, then the deal with the sharks might get dissolved which is fair IMO.

It’s hard to imagine though that anyone watches QVC and buys stuff from it but the QVC shark lady makes it seem that getting something on QVC is the equivalent of getting the brass ring. Does anyone here actually watch QVC and buy stuff from it?

I have never bought anything on any of those channels but my cousin has done several shows (coat manufacturer) on HSN and the sales are phenomenal. She sells massive amounts of the really big sizes (for eg 3X) that no department stores will carry.

I think Cuban owns the Fountainhead.

[Fountainhead Yacht - Feadship motor yacht](87.8m Fountainhead Superyacht | Luxury Motor Yacht | Superyachts.com)

If I owned that yacht, I would be charming too.

My husband and I love this show also - some of the products are so crazy - we are always trying to come up with even more ridiculous ideas than the ones we watch.

We are addicted to Shark Tank! The 18 year old girl from Pittsburgh with the skincare line this week didn’t get a deal, but was incredibly impressive. And who knew about the dangers of the lion fish population explosion? Business solution model of “spear and eat them” didn’t go over too well. Lori’s personality bugs me more than Mr. ( “you’re dead to me”) Wonderful’s.

What do you mean she didn’t get a deal?? She got a deal with Mark Cuban for 30 percent equity!

P.S. I LOVE Shark Tank!

^^^ You are right. Don’t know how I mixed that one up!

I have an interesting idea and a guy I know makes stuff from recycled materials (bike parts, and mechanical things). He is very interesting and HE would make great TV (I would be the brains, he would be the brawn) - his entire face is tattooed (as is the bulk of his body - I have none, and in fact don’t like tattoos). If you saw him on the street you might be startled, but he is one amazingly smart guy and somewhat of a genius. We would like to design and make a prototype and make a video showing people using it, at the park, on the beach bike path, etc. then take it to Shark Tank. Because of who he is, I’m fairly certain ST would pick us up (for the novelty alone) and (like all inventors) I think it’s a winning idea.

Seeing as I’m facing layoff between now and June 30th, it may become real a lot sooner than later. :)

I really enjoy this show… I also like when they do the followups with both people that made deals and those that didn’t.
