OMG! Talk about the LEAST likely mother to help plan a wedding! We are so excited. Our daughter (graduated from Rice a few weeks ago) got engaged tonight to her wonderful boyfriend. He is about to start his final year of medical school in Houston. They are planning to get married here in Tennessee- they love our church (daughter is heading for Episcopal seminary in fall 2008) and know they can get a good band here!

Fortunately, one of my coworkers/friends just planned a great wedding here with her daughter. They scoped out all the stuff like cakes, photographers etc.

I’m excited but nervous. My baby girl is ENGAGED!!! (where have the years gone?) WildChild will be in the wedding- that should be an event…

Congratulations and best wishes to your daughter MoWC…how exciting! I’m a perfect stranger…lol…but I find I’m so happy for you and your family. :)

Congratulations, MOWC! I have three older siblings, and my oldest brother has been married for over ten years now. It really is a new chapter for your family and especially your daughter’s family. I hope that your soon-to-be son-in-law makes a wonderful addition to your family. There is a lot up ahead to look forward to. My brother’s wife is now pregnant with their second child; seeing a new family form is really wonderful. Congratulations, again.

Well, MOWC…you will be our parent group “guinea pig” as one of the first (likely not the only one here, I realize) from those who have been here a long while…from high school through college…who are now going through the next “stage”…having their child get married~!~~!!! Whoa…I’m gonna have fun observing your stories. It seems like she was just a frosh at Rice. I think if any of us stay here long enough…we will have now gone through high school, college, grad school, marriages…and …drum roll…babies…do I dare say it? This all seems so far off for me…but I’ll have fun watching you.

Many congrats to the happy couple and to you and may you enjoy every minute of this next stage of parenting.

Congratulations!!! What an exciting time !! Time does fly by doesn’t it. Now for details…is this the young man she met while she was on a cruise and he was in the band? (or was that another poster?)

Wahoo! Congrats MOWC!! That cruise you took way back when really paid off!!
I can’t believe your d already graduated! My how time flies!!We just went to the wedding of a son of good friends of ours. It si strange to now be in this era of life!
