Shopping! A little for you, a little for me!

I always seem to do this during holiday shopping! Haha! Went to our “Fashion Mall” today to pick up some gifts. I walked by the Michael Kor store and had to pop in. Lo and Behold I found a great deal on a burgundy purse (I’ve been wanting one to use when we go out at night). $111, had been $275 I think. The color is prettier IRL, too. “ Just a purse, asking a woman , to love it…” (Which movie?). I had a $50 bday gift card which made it even sweeter.

The I popped over to J. Crew to pick up a gift and stopped cold at the Necklace 60% off with a $5 coupon. It is now in my jewelry box waiting to be worn someday when I have a social life again. Unfortunately it’s sold out online, so let’s see if this picture attachment works.

Here’s my bag.

So what have you bought for yourself?

Nice purchases @conmama . I’ve ordered some things online for myself but haven’t been in any regular stores this season. I got some limited edition Allbirds shoes, some fingerless gloves for exercising, some new shoes for my run/walks, an Allbirds sweater and a few other things. With so many sales, it was hard to resist (not the Allbirds, of course…)

No I don’t feel so guilty, haha! The secret to shopping in malls is to get there at opening when there is no one there, then leave.

Lol!

Cute purchases @conmama!

Of course I’ve bought myself I few things! Mostly smaller things. I ordered some things from Bath and Body Works that I usually would go into the store for but we had a snowstorm so they are being shipped to me. I also ordered some candles today from Anthropologie.

And a coat 60% off but it might not fit so I will see.

Good thing they are for me though since shipping is slow as molasses

Feeling sorry for myself so that was my impetus

I bought myself a very pretty inlaid wood cutting board which I will wrap and put under the tree . I need something to open, right?

I think that, typically, the women make the cheeriness of the holidays for our families, even if we don’t feel it. We do the work, the shopping, the decorating, the meals. I just had an epiphany. From here on out…every Xmas, we all need to buy ourselves something that we want as a pat on the back for making it happen!

I posted my festive party sweatpants on dressing young that were my Black Friday purchase. I ordered a black down coat today, definitely not that exciting. And I don’t think it will get here by Christmas.

My other Black Friday purchase was this sweater. https://www.nordstrom.com/s/nordstrom-signature-cashmere-hoodie/5577585

I do like it, I’m on the fence about keeping it. I’m going nowhere and wearing active wear every day.

@deb922, that hoodie looks so soft and comfy…keep it!

I bought Obama’s book from Costco. The next day, I went back and bought 3 more as gifts.

Fun stuff people are getting.
When I buy for myself tends to be when I’m out shopping around and I see something that’s a great deal. Since I haven’t been out and about this year, it’s been easy to not buy much.
We did purchase a framed picture of a scene in the Grand Tetons from Art.com, and it wasn’t even on sale. My husband was going to buy it for me for Christmas, but we’d decided our new fitness equipment was going to be our present to each other. So I just said “I’ll pay for half instead- let’s get it.”

@conmama great purchases! Your “quote” from a movie above was from Notting Hill.
I bought this cute tote from Madewell for myself while online Christmas shopping:

Bought myself boots and shearling loafers. The justification–having extensive heating system repairs and not able to live at home during this time. Boots and winter shoes are in storage–so I needed new boots. There was a mistake in my order and I got shearling loafers instead of boots. I decided to keep the loafers. Boots I wanted should come tomorrow.

No holiday purchases this year. The year has put a financial strain on my little family, and now with my (adult) D back home due to all work drying up for her in Portland, our collective $ needs to be stretched even further. We are thankful for the handmade watercolor cards she’s been making and selling over the last few months, as well as my p/t job, which currently remains at home, and secure.

I wish I could link the Allbirds shoes I got, but they were only available on the App and sold out, so no pictures left.

@HighTide2020

If you are a senior member and you have your shoes, you can now take a picture and post it here!

@thumper1 I’m not a senior member so no rights to posting pictures. I also just ordered the shoes and they aren’t here yet. Oh well.

Got an iPhone 12 mini and a shiny purple Otterbox :grinning:

And today a few things from Goodwill.

Thanks to CC I’ve bought myself a cashmere wrap (on super sale Black Friday) and a cork pop wine opener (stocking stuffer thread.) They are both being wrapped and put under the tree from Santa.

Oh, and I forgot I bought one of those yeti type stemless wine glasses from a store in New Orleans for D19. I had to call to see what colors they had in stock and when I couldn’t decide which color to choose I got both so we could each have one!

I spoiled myself with a super expensive pompon hat. These hats sell on RealReal used for 100% retail and sell out as soon as Nordstrom gets them. When I recieve it, I will post a pic. No link because it sold out as soon as I got it.
