What are some reasons you believe college admissions should/should not be competitive in present day?
It seems fitting to me that a combination of colleges choosing the students they want and students choosing the colleges they want from among those who have tendered offers sorts students into like-abled bands. It doesn’t make sense for students to be attending colleges where they either won’t be challenged or have no hope of success.
Anyone who doesn’t want to go through a competitive process can attend one of the many colleges that take all comers.
