Should I attend FAU, FSU, UF or UCF for my Master's Degree?

I’m currently an undergraduate at FAU majoring in Accounting. I’m planning to get a Master’s degree in Accounting as well but I’m not sure which college would be best. I have a 3.7 degree and I know admissions look at more than just GPA but I’m certain I can get into a better school than FAU. My first choice is FSU and their Masters of Accountancy program seems highly competitive which is actually attractive to me. I would also have to move away to go to any of the other colleges other than FAU which my mom is against. She tells me I’m too old to move away and that only young kids out of high school go away to college. I’ll be 27 when I go to graduate school. Am I really too old to go away for college? I would also have to quit my full-time job if I move away. I know some graduate degree programs don’t allow students to work and they are only allowed to take internships. I know at FAU this is not the case but I’m not sure about the other colleges. I don’t mind quitting my job for a better opportunity but I’m worried about covering living expenses. I have a car payment, insurance, credit cards, rent, etc. I may have to take to take out more student loans and although I get scholarships and grants right now I’m worried they won’t cover everything. Should I just say screw it and move away for college? or just stay where I am and go to FAU? Also, if I do go away which college would you suggest I go to? I might live in a dorm so I’d like to know which has the nicest dorms. Can I get just have a room by myself instead of having roommate? If there’s anything else you can tell me about the other colleges I’d really appreciate it. I still have a year left until I start applying to graduate school but I’m just trying to be prepared and find the best fit for me.

Thanks

There’s no such thing as ‘too old’ to go away to college! All of these schools have graduate student housing, as well as off campus graduate student apartments, and tons of GRADUATE STUDENTS, who are older than undergrads. At age 27 I would not want to live in a dorm with undergrads, though. You definitely want to be in graduate student housing or your own rented apartment or house. (there are always people looking for roommates, including graduate students) You DO need to look at the financial situation carefully, though. There’s nothing wrong with going to FAU and saving money!
