<p>I am in the top 10 in my class and the only one in the top 10 who isn’t taking 6 AP classes this year. I am taking 5 because I think 6 would be overkill but I want to keep my spot on the top 10. Could one more AP class make that much off an advantage to make or break someone’s rank?</p>
<p>It depends. What AP classes are you taking now, and what other options are there? If you’ve got an option to take a quote-on-quote “easier” class, like psych or human geography, then I’d say go for it. Otherwise, I don’t think it’s worth the time and effort.</p>
<p>Never EVER take an AP class just because it has the label. Stick with your current schedule- you know what you can handle. Getting lower grades is far worse than not getting whatever minuscule boost you’d get from taking one more AP. </p>
