Should i be Wary on AP Physics?

I want to major in Physics and thought it would be cool to take this class. Originally i was planning on taking Physics honors online over the summer, because i heard that AP chem and AP bio in our school required the honors to be taken as a pre-req. But today i discussed this with the AP/Honors Physics teacher, and he said that for his class honors is not a pre-req, that kids can just jump in and he’ll be able to teach them. This does make me wary though as i have a friend in AP chem who tells me that most teachers cant cover every thing on the AP chem test and that you are expected to learn/study on the side. So im wondering how would you be able to teach kids who have no idea where to start in Physics? Since honors is not a Pre-req, I don’t know much kids who have the class now nor if any one in our school has passed it (so far no one has passed the ap chem test in i think 2 years in our school or was it 6 i cant remember.)
So thoughts?

For both AP Chem and AP Physics I took pre-classes, and it REALLY helped cover all that material. Got a 5 on the chem test without any self-studying, just the pre-class that covered all the basics. I will be taking the Physics test this year, but I feel pretty confident about the B test.
