I’m currently scheduled to take Sociology Honors as my only elective option. Should I take that out and take Child Development? It’s the only class for Child Development and it’s only a regular class, not honors.
I want to be a doctor when I grow up specifically some type of doctor for babies. Should I choose Child Development to be my elective or should I choose Sociology Honors as it would bump up my GPA higher?
No. In fact it’ll be more useful for you to take Sociology Honors since sociology is a required premed class in college, so at least you’ll have a basic idea of what it is about.
In order to become a doctor, you need to pass through the premed gauntlet, which requires you to have by the end of senior year:
Math through calculus, AP Chem or AP Bio (or both), some physics, strong written skills, excellent and efficient study skills.
Your first semester DO NOT take calculus, chem, and bio together as it’s the death of many premeds - take calculus and either of chem or bio.
