Should I even bother applying? OOS

SAT breakdown:
Overall 2310
800 CR
730 M
780 Writing

That is my superscore. My highest individual score is 2260 with the same scores in CR and W but 680 M.

My GPA is 3.4 UW. I will have taken 5 AP’s and numerous other honors courses by the time I’m a senior.

-EC’s-

 • I’ve been volunteering at the local children’s hospital for three years and serve on the Volunteer’s Council with 10 of my peers. I’ve accumulated about 150 hours of service at the hospital.

I attended the Washington Workshops summer seminar during the summer of my sophomore year.

I have been a member of the track team for 3 years and will continue to run during my senior year.

As you can see, I have dedicated myself to a my local hospital and show commitment by not just being a volunteer, but by serving on the executive board. My other main focus is politics, which should help.

You definately have a shot. Go for it.

the GPA is awfully low, especially since your an OOS applicant, compare yourself to other applicant from your school from the past years (if a good amount of people apply to UVA from your school, maybe then you’ll see where you stand compared to your peers, but still apply you never know

Only 6 people have applied in the past 3 years…

Is your GPA weighted or unweighted? I think you have an excellent chance with your exracurriculars. Remember how important the essays are. UVA looks at everything when making admissions decisions so keep up the academic effort and the ECs and you should be in great shape.

Unweighted, thankfully.

GPA’s don’t matter. It’s more about where that GPA ranks within your school and your SAT sure does show that you do have academic capabilities.
