I’ll be taking the AP Calc BC test in 2018. The new 14th edition is supposed to have changed to accommodate the new changes made as of 2017, but reviews on Amazon have said that 14th edition has more typos, is practically identical to earlier editions, and doesn’t even change the number of choices from 5 to 4, which was one of the new changes made.
If you’ve used/are using the 14th edition, what is your experience and opinion with it? As far as I’ve seen in reviews, 13th edition is tried and true but I do want to make sure I’m used to the new changes when I take my test.
Thanks in advance!
@Sarah025 I have both editions. I use Barron’s for almost every subject because it over-prepares me for the actual test. I did not, however, like the Barrons 13th Edition because it is dilapidated for the new AP Calculus BC Exam (as there is a new format) and there were a bunch of redundant questions that weren’t actually comparable to the AP Exam. I love the 14th Edition though. I just got it yesterday and I am on Chapter 4 (soon to be Chapter 5). Great book.
@putinator Awesome, thanks for your reply! I’ll probably get the 14th edition then. But just to make sure: you really think the 14th edition accurately accommodates for the new changes, content- and format-wise? (especially that the number of choices in the exercises didn’t change from five to four, that might bother me)
