Should I give my retiring teacher some sort of gift?

I dont want to make it seem like I am sucking up; so this is kind of risky.

Any personal experiences you have to share

How can you be sucking up to a retiring teacher?

But if you really want to honor the teacher who has done a lot for you and means a lot to you, then don’t worry about appearances and give him/her the gift.

my thoughts exactly. get them anything, trust me, he or she will appreciate it. and make sure to include a “thank you” sort of note, it will probably mean more to them than the gift will.

Yes, do it. Especially if he/she were super good and meant something (: It’s the time to let them know that he/she did have an impact. I regret not getting a teacher at my school something… ): too late now. As for the sucking up part, … whatever. Hahah, what would be the point in sucking up if he/she is leaving?
