Hello fellow CCers, I am having trouble deliberating about joining Mu Alpha Theta this year. I am currently a senior in high school and I am wondering if it’s worth joining Mu Alpha Theta this late in my high school career. I am already in four AP classes (calc AB, macroeconomics, literature and biology) and in three clubs (NHS, Beta Club and HOSA) and by joining Mu Alpha Theta I will have to complete an additional 6 hours of service; I’m already struggling with ways to complete my hours for HOSA. However by not joining, I may risk having my calculus and former algebra 2 teacher (which I hope to receive a letter of recommendation from) to have a negative bias towards me. Either way, the first meeting is tomorrow and I am required to pay $20 for membership so I must make my decision very soon. Also, if anyone could tell me what this club does I would greatly appreciate it.
Why not join it? You have the whole year to do the service…and if you don’t…what happens? You will already be admitted to college. You can put this on your college resume and make the teachers happy now and your parents happy.
