Should I start a Toastmasters for teenagers?

Hey everyone,

the Toastmasters clubs in my area are full of 40+ men and women, and while that's not a bad thing it may deter some young people (such as myself) from joining.

So, should I start one for teenagers?

Btw, if you don't know what toastmasters is:
Toastmasters International - Home

Any input would be much appreciated.

I think that you should. However, it would probably be ideal to ensure that an adult would be able to assist you in formulating the club.

Clubs are thrilled to have younger people join, that's part of how they work. You would shine in a group of older people and I am sure they would enjoy having you as a member. The maturity would be a bonus, and I am sure you could learn a bunch from them. By the time you organize your own group, you'll be off to college. And if more younger people join because you are part of the club, they would really appreciate your membership.

The website states that the minimum age is 18. I suppose that he could see if they would enable him to join though.
