Should I stress over pre-college programs?

I applied to CMU’s pre college art and design program and Columbus College of Art and Design’s College PreView. I expect to hear from them within the next two weeks …

CMU’s is the better program, but it overlaps with a very important family vacation. I think I know what I’d do, but what are your thoughts?

I’m stressing about when the news will come and if it will be positive or negative … don’t you just love waiting? Any tips on how to cut down on the worrying?

bumpity bump bump

Yikes, you shouldn’t be stressing over this, heck, you shouldn’t stress over anything (although that’s hard to do). The prestige of summer programs, besides a few, are minimal. Harvard isn’t gonna care if you went to CMU’s or Columbus’, unless CMU’s is really something special. I suggest you go on vacation with your family, and if you’re stressing a lot right now I’d hate to see what you look like applying to colleges.

@dfree124: lol! I get very anxious over very small things. Like dentist’s appointments. And these things. Usually after reading some horror stories on CC.

I’m glad that someone agrees with me that I should go on vacation
My parents (currently) disagree, but I’m working on convincing them.

The reason why I posted this in the first place is that I lightheartedly wrote my essays and mailed the applications with high hopes. Then I talked to my parents and GC and learned what I did wrong on the application … I didn’t mail it in early enough (rolling admissions but made the deadline by a mile), maybe I should have added xyz to the resume, use xyz students as examples. …

This is a paradox. I’m anxious that I didn’t worry enough when writing the apps. lol.
