I’m a junior in high school and got a C for AP Cal BC this semester. Should I opt for AP Cal AB next semester? I think I could do better in AB, but that would mean wasting a sem learning stuff you already knew. Thoughts?
Why would you switch? You are already taking AP Calc BC. Why waste a year just to take AB again? AP Calculus AB includes techniques and applications of the derivative, the definite integral, and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus.
Just stick with it. Why do you have a C?
If you got a C then maybe you would benefit for the “repeat” of material from first semester. I would try to switch to AB. That would be a great way to get a solid math foundation before college calc.
I’m not doing that well in that class and the work is heavier than I thought (also taking AP Bio) I think AB will be easier to manage, and I need more time for Bio.
Though as you said I’m not sure if it would be a waste of time since first sem of BC pretty much covers all AB. Would the second sem of BC be easier than the first?
The second semester of BC is much harder as you will learn new integration techniques and series.
parametric, polar, and vector functions, and series. These are hard. Especially series
