Should I take a third year of foreign language my senior year?

I’m about to become a junior, but only recently learned about the fact that many competitive colleges look for more than 2 years of colleges. However, I have already entered my course selections for junior year, and I cannot remove any classes anyway because of needing to fulfill a PE requirement. The problem is, I have limited gaps of classes I can take each year because I plan on doing Wind Ensemble (my school’s top band) all through high school and the class is three trimesters. I was wondering if taking a foreign language my senior year will be frowned upon by colleges? Here some options I’ve thought of:

  1. Keep my junior year classes the same and take a foreign language (Spanish 3) senior year.
  2. Don’t take a third year of foreign language.
  3. Push PE off until senior year and defer one trimester of band to take Spanish 3 junior year.

I would do option 3, but the thing is I hate deferring band because I love the class and I don’t know if it looks bad to take PE senior year.

Thanks!

Check if there are summer course available in your school district or at a local CC.

Another option, if you wanted to get four years in or leave yourself some flexibility, would be to take a summer language class.

Summer school!

Actually, see if you can take PE over the summer (it’s relatively easy, you typically have a fitbit sorta thingy).
But, basically, you’d need to reach level 3 or 4 for a competitive college.
If you can’t take PE during the summer, see if you can dual enroll in a CC language class during the year, but be aware that if you completed HS level 2, you’d be in College Level 2 and would complete a full year in a semester. so the pace is brutal. Completing college level 3 is considered equivalent to HS level 4 in most cases (in some cases, it’s considered equivalent to HS level 3).
