Should I take AP Chem or AP Bio?

I will be a junior that is choosing between AP Chem and AP Bio to take. My course schedule includes two other APs as well as Human Anatomy. Is AP Chem really a tough course to take junior year? Is AP biology going to be tough to take with Human Anatomy because there is a lot of memorization?
Also, is it true that AP Chemistry looks more unique on college applications because AP biology is very common?
I would really appreciate it if someone would let me know before I make my final decision!!
Thank you so much :slight_smile:

No.

The workload is probably equivalent, but that depends on the teacher. How well you will do will depend on you.

Fill a coin. You can’t go wrong with either. You should choose whichever course has the best teacher/has better AP exam results/is more in line with your interests. Colleges won’t care which one you take.

What do you want to major in? If Engineering, then I would go for Chem (and Physics next year).
If Pre-med/bio, then take AP Chem and AP Bio this and next year. Bio is good to take at the same time as Human Anatomy.

I took AP bio with human anatomy this past year and it helped a lot! I found that what I was learning in Anatomy helped me with AP bio and AP bio helped me with anatomy. I ended up scoring a 4 on the AP bio exam and did very well (98) in anatomy.

AP Bio’s info is pretty scattered: none of the concepts are hard, but there are lots of concepts to memorize
AP Chem only has several big concepts, but each of them goes pretty deep and is relatively conceptually challenging
I think Bio and Chem has similar amount of work load overall, and it’s just depends on which one you are most interested in

The school I want to get into takes credits for chem and bio. Bio has to have a 4 or higher and chem has to have a 3 or higher. I thought that chemistry was lower because it is more difficult (which I am not worried about because I believe that if I try my hardest in anything I do I can succeed). {Wow, that was such a cliche comment}

That is true but let’s say that you love both
