Because I transferred to Stony Brook, I was unable to get any on campus housing and instead have to commute nearly 1.2 - 2 hours each way and Stony Brook administrators have informed me that they do not expect to get any students off the waitlist until next Spring 2016 at the earliest. This is of course very inconvenient due to the lengthy commute.
The alternative is to, after the next academic year, transfer to UBuffalo as an Aerospace Engineering major starting in the third year of the program. I say this because it seems to me my chances of getting on campus housing there will be greater because housing is on a first come first serve unlike at Stony Brook where transfers are put on a waitlist to get housing. Of course, if I am mistaken about this, I would like to be corrected before i do anything further.
Additionally, I am very interested in the Aerospace Engineering major at UB and feel it might me my needs and interestes better than the Mechanical Engineering major at Stony Brook.
Also, I have a few additional questions.
- Is there a party life there?
- How is the enforcement of quiet hours?
