Should my D25 submit SAT scores to test optional school

D25 is going to be applying to Clark University. The Clark Common Data Set reports that only 22% of admitted Clark students submit the SATs. My daughter is taking them in Oct. I’m guessing that she won’t get within the 50% range because of her low PSAT scores. Her GPA and extra-curricular activities are what Clark is looking for. My question is: does submitting SAT scores really make a difference at a college when only 22 percent of admitted students submit?

Thanks everyone.

Likely not if she’s above the range in rigor and GPA and if you’re a full pay family.

Good luck.

I’d only submit if her scores are at (or very close to) the 50th percentile. Otherwise, seems fine to apply test optional.

Do you know the average SAT for your school? I believe they will look at your SAT in the context of your own school. If you don’t know your school average it is possible to that it is on your high school profile or perhaps your state dept of education has it on its website. If you have that information and can post it here you may get more nuanced advice.

Has she been preparing for the SAT? I have seen significant increases from PSAT to SAT scores (from our own kid’s experience), especially with preparation. She may do better than anticipated, which may help determine the answer to your question.

I would submit anything above 1400. Most AOs would assume you did worse than that if you don’t submit score. Good Luck.
