Sing-off

She is channeling her inner-Paula Abdul. She was particularly irritating last night.

JHS - D2’s a cappella group does Fix You, and toward the end of their arrangement they have some of the singers still doing Fix You while others are doing The Scientist (sorry, I have no knowledge of musical terms… I know there’s a term for this kind of arranging). So last night when they reached that part of the song, I kept waiting to hear The Scientist. I love Coldplay.

I have actually liked Nicole as a judge - until last night. What the heck was all that blubbering about?

Since we DVR all of the episodes, we just FF past all of Nicole’s comments. She always seems so self-satisfied with what she has to say. She leans back and grins after her own comments. That’s when we know to slow it back down again.

Hey, just noticed that the Oxygen Channel is airing all the episodes this afternoon/evening… In case you don’t have a DVR and missed them.

Yes, we made fun of Nicole here too, but last night I thought the ‘smart’ judge was super annoying. He sang badly and then made a lot of bad jokes.

Nicole does have a great voice. She should stick to singing.

Nicole is also an incredible dancer. But not so much a talker…

Ben Folds is an incredible musician and his observations as a judge were by far the most intelligent and cogent. However, his vocal style is NOT one that blends well with other voices, so a cappella with a group is not a great idea for him.
