im worried that the books i buy dont have enough practice test leh?

hey why were you at SMU? i randomly had dinner with prof winston koh once haha

Oh - personally don’t think you should retake your SAT IIs. I meant both of the official guides (SAT I and SAT II). I only did 1.5/8 practice papers on the SAT I book… I feel that the ‘fake SATs’ by other test prep companies aren’t worth buying. S: Can’t advise you further, think you just need to touch up on your foundation and concentration during the test. Will be worth paying for the scoring analysis in case there’s no improvement on the next try, to figure out where you can improve.

What the, you only did 1.5/8 practice test and still get 800 O_O. Are all official guides for SAT I the same, i mean are there different years of the bluebooks? Cause I still wanna practice somemore, and i don’t think its good practicing papers which you’ve done before?

btw right, for the blue book I just jump straight into the tests without reading all those help-texts etc. Should i read them?

does yale give interviews to singaporeans?

yes 10char

i didnt get an interview…wt does that mean?

From Yale’s website:

My area is covered by an ASC, but why have I not been contacted for an interview?
You may not be contacted for an alumni interview until a few weeks after we have processed your application. Most Early Action interviews take place in November and the bulk of Regular Decision interviews occur in late January and during the month of February. It is also possible that given the large number of applications, the ASC is not able to interview every candidate in your area. Please remember that interviews are not required and your application will not be jeopardized if you are not offered an interview.

Hope this helps!

@ilovefhf

this is weird. i did my yale alum interview on 11 Feb at united square near Novena.

Yep, they’re the same each year. Mmhmm, I only did 1.5 papers because I didn’t have 30+ hours of uninterrupted all through the year to finish the rest and score them!

Maybe you can try the old “10 Real SATs”, but avoid the analogy sections. There’s also some extra practice for each section in the “help text” parts you were referring to. Do those if you haven’t already.

I did read through all of the “help texts” - and I regretted it. I didn’t find them useful, except that short summary of writing errors in the writing section.

OMG I’m so F-ed… I didn’t get a Yale interview either… Like ****…

^pfaocltd
Hmm, ok! I got someone to help me erase away my previous answers for the practice tests, gonna do them again! Do i need to memorise barron’s 3500 word list?

happy lunar new year to everyone in the S’pore thread

^BrilliantMinds: That depends. If you’re getting the vocab questions right on the practices, you probably don’t need to. I didn’t memorize any word list.

Does NUS look at my GPA if I studied in the US?Or do they just look at my SAT score?

^I think they take both into consideration.

*** ? i didn’t know singapore’s national language wasn’t english ? now i have to waste like 300 dollars on the toefl as some colleges refuse to accept SAT verbal scores =/
and now the date and deadline is another issue.

what is singapore’s national language?not english?

i have absolutely no idea. probably chinese or malay ? and i’ve no idea how to convince them otherwise. i even told them all lessons in SG are conducted in english. plus i’m paying for all the app and test fees on my own so 300 for toefl is kinda alot. and then there’s the issue of dates. bleh.
