Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 1)

WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO MATHSON!!! WAY TO GO!!! CONGRATS on HARVARD!!!
mathmom~

soooooooo HAPPY for you and soooooooooo proud of and happy for your son!!! :)

raising a glass of champagne in a celebratory toast!!!

~b.

WooHoo to mathmom! Congrats to mathson!

Thanks everyone! I’m stunned. And he managed it by being him - including that zero he got a freshman English assignment which we just about strangled him for… :)

$200 on dinner and you didn’t get any ‘pizza’?

pnoles, you need to get some advice in the Man Thread…

^^cheers…ROFL…you’ve got it all wrong. If you GET pizza, you don’t get…well, THAT! So, NO pizza is a GOOD THING! :D

Yes, cheers, my dear. Pizza is the consolation prize. And I don’t think p2n would consider it much consolation. ;)

I’ve been to some of the fine restaurants in P2n’s city. $200 not only buys you a great meal, but possibly also an incredible view of sunset on the gulf and ??

Take away my man card, but I’ll take that over the lousy Florida pizza any day of the week.

The definition of “pizza”: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=299730</a></p>

pulling up from page 2

p2n,

I just got finished the checking your man card at the door thread and it looks like you’re trying to give the SA crowd a run for the money. Gosh, you know the dog gives me strange looks when I laugh and chortle early in the morning.

Is this going to be the high testosterone version of SA or next week are you going to hang a sign saying you are the He Man Woman Haters Club (as we know Alfalfa really wasn’t a woman hater and thought he was a playa)?

I love the Man card thread and wish they would just get themselves a danged booth in here, so I don’t have to trespass :D.

There’s a tradition at my kids’ HS that in the spring of senior year, parents are invited (=encouraged) to assemble a 20"x30" photo collage for their graduating senior. They are hung around the walls of the gymnasium and everyone visits to smile and reminisce. So of course I made one for each of my sons, including my favorite photos of them over the years (in S1’s case, I arranged them on a background of a print of a landscape photo he’d taken, in S2’s case I put them on a print of a particularly detailed graphic design he created).

As S2 (=TSFH) and I badged into the YMCA to work out last night, he told me, "Oh yeah, all the kids at school are saying, ‘You were such a cute little kid, what happened?’ "

o_O

(PS: I think they’re full of it, he’s still gorgeous.)
(PPS: I mostly posted this because I love that popular little “WHAAAAA??” icon thingie there and needed an excuse to use it. )

Proactive saving from page 2.

New York City - SBMom from a couple of posts back.

Ah. New York.

I lived on Riverside and 104th for a couple of years. I know that info is already buried somewhere in this thread. I have been back though, fairly often. There is no place I know like NYC.

I would wax poetic, but I’m taking care of a friend’s 6 year old and have no eloquence left:).

All I know is that if I had to choose one of my top three trips I would take NYC with my daughter. Were it offered, of course.

Question - a sideline - if they have man cards what do we have? Woman what? woman what?

maybe women jewels?

Since we’re back on New York –

What are your 3 favorite restaurants in New York?

Mine are:

Bouley (may be my favorite restaurant anywhere)

The Palm

Estiatorio Milos

sybs…did you see camellia’s thread? She’s in decision agnst about a great offer with $$$ from Dartmouth. She’s worried she won’t find her people there. I recommended she PM you but I dont’ know if she could read through the tears.

I have a Manhattan Card. Alphabet City. CPW and 75th. Riverside Drive and 92nd. Famous neighbors at all three locations.

I need an apartment in New York. Tell me why I sold mine? Or better yet, shoot me in the foot. I deserve it.

sluggbugg ROFL!

(So how do you all change font size and color? Where do you get the smilies? I could use a CC tutorial.)

cheers, maybe a bunch of us NYC expats could chip in and share one?

mootmom, mathmom, weenie et al- check out post 136 in the “plan B” thread…
they need to hang out in the Alley more…
