Have to now amend my post because mommusic pulled us up from page 3

Welcome esobay and congrats.

What are we doing on page 4??? That’s really a dark, dim, back alley!

I haven’t been here in a while cause of a busy real life–performances, a kid home from college, getting another kid ready to go to Europe on a school-sponsored spring break trip…and about that latter…if the timing were better, I’d be on that plane too. :(

I miss him. Barkeep, pour me something…comforting.

I’ll join you mommusic. I am celebrating, because my slackerson YJFS has no C’s at the moment. :)

One never knows how long this C-free status will last!!

I’ve been thinking of y’all and wondering where you were.

But didn’t try to come by because I have been battling… food poisoning! Not life threatening, and I suffered a much worse acute case back in college along with tons of classmates… but let’s just say you don’t want to hear any of the details.

Today was a big day - I had a glass of orange juice. Heaven.

So, I think I’ll just have another. :D

Hello All!!!

I’ve been off CC for Lent and am pleased to say that all children and animals are relatively OK. Twin #2 had a concussion caused by twin#1 (slammed the door on his head when they were supposed to be cleaning their room. GRRR!); still recovering, but doing ok.

Hope everyone has a great Easter holiday!

That lent thing sounds like a really good idea! CC has become my new obsession, H says it is okay because it is cheaper than shoes and handbags:)

Fencer- glad twin 2 is okay! reminds of S#2 accidentally knocking out S#3 front teeth in a play sword fight, SURE.

Happy Easter All

Happy Easter everyone.

Fencer, glad that the boys are ok.

They now feel they have a good reason to never clean again. The boys are probably going to post a sign on the door

“Cleaning your room could be hazardous to your health.”

Chicky is on the last leg of her passing through (catching up on her sleep after spring break with the friends) and is going back for the last term with her people tomorrow morning. Gosh it has all gone by so fast.

There is a part of me that really misses coloring those eggs, but I don’t miss trying to figure out what to do with all of those uneatten hard boiled eggs.

Happy Easter, all! Glad you’re feeling better, jmmom!

Oh, fencersmother! Yes, another reason not to clean. Could be fatal, huh? Glad he’s doing okay.

We always blew eggs - family eats scrambled and grownups eat quiche. They are harder to dye, but you get to keep them. I like making really fancy Russian easter egg patterns. Not going to get to it this year though.

Happy Easter one and all!

We’re still on a major hamentaschen-cooking/eating binge here. DS2 has made about 10 dozen in the past week.

Every time someone loses in our NCAA pool, there’s a run to the hamenstaschen for consolation. (Also happens every time someone wins. :D)

Ahh, blowing eggs. I remember that so well. When I tried to make an “occasion” of it when my kids were young, my twins (I think they might be FERRETS themselves) figured out how to apply just enough pressure to make all that gooey stuff FLY onto the dining room wall, or better, each other.

Deep down, I still love them. ;)

Three shoutouts:

welcome back, fencersmother! Come on in and sin with us. :D

countingdown–make that hamantashen AND girl scout cookies. Plus the chocolate goodies DH brought back from a conference in, of all places, Hershey, PA. (Tough job, but someone’s got to do it.)

And to ellenemope–did you know there is a book out there titled, “Ella Minnow Pea”?

TY -mom, glad to be back.

We had a college visitor for 10 days who had no place else to go for spring break and decided to spend the time with some crazy folks (us.) by coming home for the week + with my eldest. Well, what one doesn’t learn about a 22 year old guy in a week and a half… for instance, despite all the posturing, he actually does vomit when he smokes cigars and/or consumes copious amounts of fluid (which he claimed were NOT alcohol). (Yeah, and I got my kids off the cabbage patch truck) It wasn’t too bad though until my WASHER BROKE and the car had a minor crunchy with the neighbor’s (actually not my fault; elderly neighbor forgot he was in gear when he got out of the car.).

Here is a new drink with girl scout thin mints. Actually, this might qualify for a food group with that new FDA stupid triangle pyramid…

Copious amounts of your fav ice cream, but mint choco chip, choco, or vanilla preferred. Drown in some minty liquor - or whatever. Crush a bunch of those girlscout cookies on top. I find it works best if you actually consume a half gallon of ice cream and half the bottle of booze. Then you don’t care how many cookies you’ve eaten, AND… the whole thing has no calories. enjoy ;)

MMMMmmmmm…a grasshopper-like drink, only more ice creamy with thin mints on top! Wow.

Remember years ago there was a dessert called “better than Robert Redford”? (Showing our age…the younger generation will go “Robert who?”) I think that was the one with lots of crumbled chocolate chip cookies and whipped cream. Or maybe just lots of chocolate.

Anything with thin mint on it is a really, really good thing.

Wow, fencersmom…I’m impressed that you gave CC up for lent! I mostly gave it up for a week on the beach (but I have to admit that I peeked).

Back for a couple of weeks until spring break #2 comes (darn those colleges and high schools having different vacations!!!)

Yeah, I’m impressed too, FM. Wonder if I could do that? I gave up Diet Coke for Lent. Did you peek at all?

I had a friend who gave up brussel sprouts for lent. She had no problem sticking with that one!

Why not just give up Lent for Lent?

Woah SBmom that just blew my mind

No, I didn’t peek, though I was indeed sorely tempted a couple times. Trying to set a good example and all that rubbish. haha

I have no idea what I did before I found CC - perhaps I was otherwise productive? (not too likely)

My D and I were discussing her upcoming senior year of high school (she’s a junior) and we decided we should just tour Europe for the year, sampling all the local cuisines and refreshments, taking in the tourist attractions, etc. I think this is a much better plan than dealing with the stresses of senior year. It is our idea to leave my DH behind to look after the dogs and bills! Ahh, fantasy land! I love it.
