Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 2)

Someone should tell the Surgeon General about your FIL.

Dryish January for me. I work in the wine industry so it’s near impossible to be completely dry since we have to taste wine at work.

However, my husband and I flew to Cincinnati this weekend to visit our son and see Xavier play UConn (son is senior at XU). We couldn’t have picked a better game to see in person as it was a close game and XU won! We stopped at our favorite place by our hotel to celebrate and I got this Jalapeno Margarita rimmed with Tajin. Perfectly spicy!

Love a spicy Margarita! I also put double-stuffed jalapeño-garlic olives in my martinis.

We should come up with a recipe for a drink called The Surgeon General.

When I was on the San Antonio River Walk recently with my sister, daughter, and niece, there was a Big Red Margarita on the menu. I’m not sure if it’s in other parts of the country, but Big Red is a soda we used to drink as kids in Texas. So I ordered a HUGE one for the girls and me (Sis doesn’t drink). It was pretty good!

This Virginia ABC lottery opens up tomorrow. :crossed_fingers:t2:

I could get on board with that!

Atmospheric River? Bring it on! 50 degrees is lounging on the deck time by our local standards!

Aw, the thread where I learned about marmots many years ago. I used to come to Sinner’s Alley after fighting with my son to finish his homework and then college apps. Now, I’m back to kick up my feet and shoot the breeze with all of the retirees and empty nesters. It was hard to imagine 17 years ago but here we are.

With St. Patrick’s Day less than a week away Irish bars are loading in Guinness kegs to prepare for the madness. I’ll start the weekend off with lunch and a few-ish pints at the account pictured below.

Dh and gave up alcohol for Lent. If anyone has suggestions they like for nonalcoholic beer, wine, or cocktails, please share. Dh has tried a few: Athletic Brewing, Sam Adams, Heineken and Guinness. He thought the Heineken was okay, but I didn’t like any of them. Not that we need a sub but for a special dinner or a party it might be nice.

Heard great things about Gruvi sangria.
